During an "ad-hoc" session with a cluster of Koreans businessmen and academia recently, i was pleasantly surprised, and honoured to be invited to be a Member of the Korean Association Johor. I believed "intercultural sustainability" is achieved through deeper insights of other cultures, and this would be crucial towards fostering global understanding, cooperation, and peace. This can be achieved via activities such as - 1. Cultural immersion and exchange programs; 2. Cross-cultural education; 3. Interfaith dialogue and cooperation; 4. Participation in Cultural festivals and events; 5. Storytelling and media representation; 5. Language learning; 6. Cultural competence training; 7. Research and collaboration; 8. Community engagement; and 9. Inclusive policies and practices. Adoption of such strategies will foster a deeper understanding of other cultures, leading to greater empathy, cooperation, and sustainability.

It's disheartening to witness the decline of our mother tongue languages in Malaysia, a country rich in cultural diversity. At our China-founded company in Malaysia, where the majority of teachers are Malaysian Chinese and students predominantly Chinese, the lack of proficiency in Malay among Malaysians is a concerning reality. Despite being Malaysian-born and raised, many struggle to speak our national language fluently. Our mother tongue languages are not just a means of communication; they are a vital part of our identity and heritage. Embracing and preserving these languages is crucial in fostering unity and celebrating our multicultural society. Let's take pride in our linguistic diversity and make an effort to uphold and pass on these invaluable aspects of our culture to future generations. Let's strive to bridge these language gaps and ensure that our rich linguistic tapestry remains vibrant and cherished. #PreserveOurLanguages #CulturalHeritage #UnityInDiversity #LanguagePreservation #MotherTongues #CulturalIdentity #MalaysianDiversity #LanguagePride #LanguageBridge
