I Love a Walk 🚶♂️ A mentor of mine once told me, “Pierre, take time away from the noise.” Last week , I finally took their advice and walked from London Bridge to Dalston. Why the long walk? Well, the Tube didn’t feel like the best place for deep thinking—unless you’re inspired by overhearing someone’s debate about the best coffee spot in Shoreditch. But as I walked through the city, I finally had the space to reflect. Now, let’s not pretend I completely escaped the noise. I’m still guilty of checking emails mid-walk (old habits die hard), but even so, that walk gave me the clarity I needed to focus on the big questions. How can we better explain our apprenticeship offering? How do we deliver more value for our partners? And how do I make time like this a regular part of my week, not just an occasional moment of sanity? Sometimes the best ideas don’t come in the middle of a meeting. They come when you step away, create space, and let your mind wander (even if your inbox travels with you). Speaking of ideas, here’s a big one: In just 7 days, we’re hosting our recruitment event at Bullhorn’s head office. We’re thrilled to celebrate the success of our Path2Apprenticeships Hospitality programme, delivered in partnership with Compass Group UK&I and funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority. This impactful initiative has opened doors for aspiring hospitality professionals, equipping them with essential skills, industry-recognised qualifications, and hands-on experience in real-world settings. Participants gained invaluable insights through practical training, site visits, and events at Xcelerate, Edgbaston Cricket Ground, where they honed technical skills like sushi-making and hosting professional events. With workshops on CV writing, interview preparation, and leadership, this programme ensured participants were job-ready and confident to enter apprenticeships and employment opportunities.
