From Fontbonne University, I gained part 1: Principles of Investment Banking I delved into the principles of financial markets, corporate finance, and mergers and acquisitions. By understanding how people’s natural risk tolerance and desire for rewards influence their decisions, I learned to craft financial strategies that maximize returns. This involves evaluating market trends, identifying profitable opportunities, and making strategic moves to benefit clients. Through practical case studies in academia, I applied these principles to many “real world” in both negative and positive ethics, exposing corruption, fixing damage, creating positive personas and taking charge of leadership teams of executives and creating phenomenal success. Leading in difficult scenarios, enhancing my ability to navigate complex financial landscapes and serve clients effectively.

We have entered a new governance era in private equity. Long gone are the days when PE firms could simply buy companies and saddle them with massive debt. Capital costs have soared, and financial engineering can only go so far. In their search for more enduring advantages, innovative private equity firms and their portfolio companies are increasingly embracing a more entrepreneurial governance model in which board members, with deep operational experience and more skin in the game, work side-by-side with portfolio company executives to co-create the new strategy, shape the culture, and develop future leaders. If the past decade is any indication of the future, private equity will continue to be the financer of first choice in the real economy. Public companies should be questioning their approach to governance — which hasn’t evolved all that much since the collapse of Penn Central half a century ago — and thinking about what they can learn from private equity.

🏆 Exciting News! 🏆 I am thrilled to share with my network that our team emerged victorious in the NorthEdge Private Equity Challenge 2024! 🚀 This marks my third triumph in a business competition since embarking on my university journey. This competition posed unique challenges: 1️⃣ Random Team Assignment: Unlike previous competitions, I couldn't select my teammates; we were assigned randomly.  2️⃣ Tough Competition: We faced off against over 125 top students from six universities. Despite these hurdles, I was fortunate to collaborate with exceptional teammates: James Nangle, Michael Yu, Freddie de Monte, and Will Paraskeva. Our team was one that had diverse expertise, which undoubtedly contributed to our success. A few strategies set us apart: ✅ Learning from Past Winners: Special thanks to Adam Townsend (winner 2022) and Michael Lin (winner 2023) for sharing invaluable insights from their past victories. ✅ Going the Extra Mile: We compiled supplementary research material to supplement our presentation, showcasing our commitment and enhancing our arguments. The challenge involved reviewing due diligence material and pitching an investment appraisal for a hypothetical acquisition in the data services sector. This experience deepened my understanding and passion for private equity, especially in areas like market analysis, valuation, and value creation opportunities. 🔍 With 25 teams from six universities competing, we navigated each round successfully, ultimately earning a spot in the final stage. There, we presented our findings to the NorthEdge Investment Committee, comprised of partners and investment executives, who judged our performance. Heartiest congratulations to all teams who participated, and a special shoutout to the two other finalists! 🎉 I'm grateful for this enriching experience and would like to thank Greg Rawsthorne and Alex Griffiths for organising this competition and look forward to applying the lessons learned in future endeavours💼.

Delighted to have facilitated our KPMG | Acceleris "Investor Roundtable" this morning, delving into pathways for middling portfolio companies and their investors! 🚀   It was an incredibly insightful session, here are some key takeaways 👜:  - Back to basics! Investors stressed the importance of revisiting fundamental principles of middling companies. A strong management team, scalable business models and clear value propositions from the start are key to middling companies’ success.  - Don’t be afraid to have difficult conversations. Open dialogues between investors and portfolio companies are essential. Addressing middling rankings early foster transparency and enables proactive measures to be taken, ensuring both investors and companies are equipped to navigate the challenges effectively.  - Act before it’s too late. Initiating discussions early allows companies and investors to implement efficient strategies, i.e. cost-cutting strategies, talent acquisition etc, streamlining operations and enhancing efficiency before cash runs out.  - Explore alternatives. Strategic M&A, buyouts, debt offer viable options.
