It is good to see how Dan Marokane and his leadership team have turned around Eskom. They have also converted energy experts and media houses who were fierce critics into promoters. It is all about disciplined execution of a turnaround plan and telling their own story. #Eskom #KeepGoing
Ntate Mteto Nyati great and visible work done here. Congratulations. I am curious to know the main components of Eskom's Disciplined execution approach if you are able and willing to share 🌻
I am worried that it was ANC that created the problem and fixed it. Some manipulation is present, Mr De Ruyter was highly competent for this role. Suddenly ANC loses majority votes and they fix all those problems unearthed by Dr Ruyter in two weeks. The corruption in this organisation is shocking. I remember the saying that comrades must eat, I think they told all of those in corruption chain to cool it for a while so that energy supply appears to be stable. Not too long, the comrades will be eating again, this facade cannot be maintained and we will face higher prices and load shedding. It hurts to be associated as a black person when such things are committed by black bros. I have never thought that our people can pillage finds for a critical resource such as energy for private jets, private islands, mansions around the world, champagnes on girls' bodies, what a betrayal. These leaders cannot be trusted with the fiscus, now ANC wants to make us believe this Marokane is the best since he could nullify all the findings by de Ruyter so that we are swayed to forget the corruption and State Capture, I will never forget. Any person who claims that a turn around at Eskom is achieved knows what I am talking about, shame on all of you.
If Eskom can turnaround… so can the rest of our economy! Strong leadership, competence and political will Well done
We need to embrace this story and see the impact of quality leadership in the face of all the odds. My hope is that this can translate into our Municipalities and local government entities to address the gross mismanagement and lack of service delivery. We should start with Joburg considering the downward trajectory we are on.
Our past is never dead; it's alive and colouring the present. This is also true for organisational “personas” like Eskom. While its tragic past cannot be undone, changed, or magically erased, how Eskom’s leadership works through and internalises its past will be determined by its enduring and creative organisational spirit. Resilience is cultivated; making meaning of our past ills, failures, pain, and suffering propels us. To move forward productively, we must boldly confront, unravel, work through and make peace with our past.
As a South African I would be ashamed and disgusted working for such a Company. It was infamous for looting, stealing, corruption, etc. It is a disgrace of a Company. No moral ethics! When employ people that were born with the culture to steal, etc! 😁 😂 🤣
Well done to you Mteto. You have silenced the critics and brought excellence to Eskom.
There has been a truly remarkable turnaround at Eskom. Today, I learned that in the 1990s, Eskom developed the Standard Transfer Specification (STS), an international industry standard that defines a secure messaging system for transferring information between point-of-sale (POS) systems and prepayment meters. In the immortal words of Nelson Mandela, “It always seems impossible until it’s done.” Wishing the Eskom leadership success on their journey towards an inspirational roadmap.
Congrats Mteto! You took the lead! I can give credit where credit is due. 3moI cannot see what there is to celebrate, Eskom used to be very good at producing very cheap electricity with low grade coal, how can a turnaround be celebrated when a bailout is the reason for "success"? To those celebrating, enjoy the price hike coming your way, it's the only way they can show renewables to be competitive 🤔
