Almost every street within the Avalon site in Alpharetta, Georgia, illustrates Tice's Rules for Passive Speed Management (TM?): - Corridor visual width is 60 feet or less - Blocks are short - Lots of active doorways - Can't see more than 500(ish) feet ahead Parkdale Lane is a notable exception. Drivers can see around 1000 feet ahead, the west block is (relatively) long, and there are no doors on the street. The visual width is 60 feet between the trees, but otherwise this breaks all of the rules. The buildings either back on to the corridor or are set far back. This is a road.
