I recently had the privilege of attending the Womentee 9 to 5 program by Parity, courtesy of my company, BGSW, and with the support of my managers, Sudarshan and Manju, who clearly saw potential in me (or maybe they just knew I needed a solid push!). The program was a powerhouse of sessions aimed at developing a growth mindset, staying in sync with market trends, and making the most of our strengths—a true wake-up call for those of us who thought multitasking was an actual career path.
A key takeaway was the value of setting long-term goals—because let’s face it, sometimes we all need that guiding light to avoid “achievement by accident.” The added bonus was realizing how personal growth fuels company goals, and who doesn’t enjoy a bit of professional win-win? Plus, the networking was as rich as the coffee breaks, leading to inspiring connections with fellow members.
The concept of mentoring was another highlight. Streamlined sessions provided the perfect framework to steer my ideas, path, and growth in a meaningful direction (and away from my “it’ll sort itself out” phase). Special thanks to Saraswathi Ramachandra (She/Her/Hers). and Shivaprakash MS for their perspectives, bringing wisdom from their varied domains and professions—and for keeping us all on our toes with their insights!
