LinkedIn China 领英中国 recently facilitated two career fairs in our Beijing and Shanghai offices, connecting overseas students with leading Chinese companies like Midea Group Rachel Liu Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited Yuki Zhou Trip.com Group Alibaba.com OPPO NetEase. We welcomed over 500 international and Chinese students from universities ranked in the top 50 by QS and actively engaged with our customers in business sharing, resume critiques, and mock interviews. As we've been seeing Chinese companies expand globally, we've seen a massive demand for recruiting students from overseas. Here are some trends and observations to better connect the China Go Global Enterprises and Overseas International students. 📍 Over 84% of Chinese students studying abroad tend to go back to China for jobs after graduating. 📍 Sectors experiencing significant growth, such as technology, renewable energy, and healthcare, tend to draw in graduates returning from abroad. 📍 Young professionals are increasingly emphasizing personal growth and career development when choosing employers. 📍 Key obstacles for Chinese companies to recruit international talents include difficulties in reaching out to candidates abroad, lack of reliable channels for effective communication, and the struggle to appeal to these talents due to limited employer branding internationally. 领英人才解决方案 is an excellent ally for Chinese companies looking to hire international students. It boasts the most extensive global pool of Chinese graduates from over 134,000 universities, including 170,000 recent graduates from Top QS institutions. Leveraging big data and AI technology, 领英人才解决方案 enhances every step of campus recruitment, increasing both effectiveness and efficiency while also amplifying employer branding worldwide. Last night I attended the VMA GROUP Event in Manchester and our discussion on graduate recruitment left a lasting impression. According to VMA’s #InsideInsight report, there’s a significant shortage of entry-level jobs in our industry, with only 10% of employees under thirty. We have a long way to go in attracting younger people into the profession! At Enthuse Communications, we always strive to include a graduate as part of our team. However, recruiting in the field of internal communication can be challenging due to its relative lack of visibility. Our first graduate had an aunty in the industry, giving her early exposure to the opportunity. Similarly, our current graduate, Fiona Moore (pictured), focused her dissertation on employee engagement, albeit unaware of its direct application to internal communication. But not everyone has a connection, which highlights the need for our industry - and by that, I mean us as individual practitioners - to take proactive steps. We need to engage with universities, participate in career fairs, and use social media to showcase our industry. Hiring graduates isn’t just about immediate needs; it’s an investment in the future of our profession. Graduates represent the next generation of leaders and influencers in internal communications. Nurturing them early can lead to long-term benefits for the industry. They bring new ideas and fresh perspectives, are more likely to challenge existing norms, and offer creative solutions to problems. And, as we talked about last night – for diversity’s sake, it doesn’t need to be a ‘graduate’ either. I found out from the panel last night about the 10,000 Interns Foundation, which champions underrepresented talent through its 10,000 Black Interns and 10,000 Able Interns programmes. Check them out! So, if like me, you’re one of the 37% of IC professionals aged 41-50 or the 25% who are 51 and over, think about what you can do to pay it forward and give a young person just starting out in their career a leg up onto the ladder. How do we interact with new people in a work-setting, or people very different from us? How do we have engaging presentations? Effective meetings? Students write papers, exams, and do the occasional presentation. Then they start working and need to do a recruitment interview. They need to get along with people different than themselves. They will sit on meetings and present ideas and work. Write mails and chats. How can we help students be ready for this? Focus on skills and prepare for work-life? How can we prepare students for work-life, and for all the communication in different forms and channels? Simple. The excellent John Johansson and I created a course. Boss Marie-Therese Christiansson swiftly said yes. So here it is. A NEW COURSE at Karlstads universitet /Handelshögskolan vid Karlstads universitet coming now in spring 2025. APPLY by October 15th on this link. You do not need to be extrovert or comfortable in speaking in front of or with others. But you need to tag along and practice and do. https://lnkd.in/dnUheCcE #skills #worklife #highered
