This is one of the high tunnels in our showroom. We highlight a few equipment options that are essential for a quantitative and qualitative yield: thermal and shading screen, air recirculation fans and ebb&flow benches. The thermal and shading screen: • Thermal screen – for saving thermal energy – the cold season. Only the part underneath the gutter is heated, thus resulting in important savings for the heating part (reducing the costs with at least 25-30%). • Shading screen – for decreasing the temperature – the warm season. During the warm periods the temperature within greenhouses and tunnels can rise over the comfort level of the plant. The shading screens can significantly decrease the temperature by 8-10 grade. They represent a very efficient cooling solution when combined with side openings or ventilators + walls with water curtains. The lettuce, for example, cannot be cultivated during the warm season without proper cooling. • Thermal & shading screen – a combined solution between the first two presented above… basically like all-season tires. Air recirculation fans: Ideal for usage inside greenhouses and tunnels as they are highly efficient in air movement, silent and they resists greatly inside moist and corrosive environment. Ebb&flow benches advantages: - a higher yield - healthier plants (raised above the ground, in a warmer environment) - more productive workers, not having to work in uncomfortable positions - more attentive workers and well-organized plants, which leads to easier inspection of the crops, thus reducing cases of pest spread - smaller temperature fluctuations around the plants - improved air circulation in the cultivation area, thus the environment inside the greenhouse/tunnel becomes easier to control - reduced energy consumption with heating, ventilation and recirculation systems due to improved air flow - easier soil/floor disinfection - all plants are irrigated simultaneously and equally. #seretransilvania #greenhouseequipment #greenhouseefficiency

Creating an ideal microclimate: HVAC considerations for greenhouses The best greenhouses can be affected greatly by the weather conditions around them, including: 𝗧𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 – It’s usually warmer inside a greenhouse than out of it due to the way in which the glass works to magnify and intensify the sun’s heat passing through. However, if it’s cold and frosty outside a greenhouse, it’ll also be quite cold on the inside, as these houses don’t tend to have much insulation. 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗱𝗶𝘁𝘆 – Surrounding humidity levels can also impact the conditions inside a greenhouse. If the outside air is very dry, with low humidity levels, building up moisture and humidity inside may be more challenging. Similarly, if the outdoor air is wet and humid, causing common lawn problems outside the greenhouse, it may also lead to hotter and stickier air inside it. 𝗩𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 – The type and amount of ventilation in a greenhouse’s design will also impact its climate in a big way. Fans and vents allow fresh air to pass into the greenhouse while promoting good airflow throughout the space.
