We have had to pull the plug on a major event in the Dragons calendar .. Reluctantly, we have postponed our men's invitational football tournament that was to be held this coming Sunday. Things were not slotting into place as they should, and as a result, we had the uneasy feeling that a domino of disaster effect will happen. We have been doing events long enough to know that when things don't feel right, they are not right. Postponements are something we don't take lightly, we have had very few in the fifteen years we have been doing this, and while there has been so much effort gone into arranging the event by so many people, and it's hugely disappointing not just for ourselves but for other teams involved, we know it's the right call to make. Playing for a purpose to help make a difference is key to our existence, so we have re-arranged for Sunday 13th October 2024, where everything WILL have slotted into place, and it will be one of the best tournaments we have ever held, where teams will come together and raise money and awareness for good causes. It was a tough call to pull it but, in my mind I know it was the right call ... and, it is more than ok to reset. What do you do when things don't feel right, do you continue and hope for the best, postpone, delay, cancel? Please let me know in the comments, I would love to hear your thoughts. #football ⚽ #beadragon 🐲 #socialimpact 👊 #playforpurpose 💜

With the Olympic Games in full swing, you can’t help but admire the sheer strength, skill and determination on display – it’s inspiring. It’s great to see a new sport for 2024 appearing in the Olympics, break dancing, which will be attracting a younger audience no doubt. It’s important to engage younger generations, this extends to finances too. As you pass the financial baton down the generations, it’s beneficial to involve your family in the financial planning process, and to have conversations about money. By thoughtfully managing and transitioning wealth across generations, the quality of life for current and future generations could be improved. The U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) isn’t interested in the American public—or even the game itself. For years, it’s been riddled with corruption, conflicts of interest, and poor financial management. Despite generating huge revenues, the USSF somehow lost $40 million last year due to mismanagement. As long as they’re keeping MLS and sponsors happy, they couldn't care less about the sport’s growth or what fans actually want. 💰💰💰 The root issue? A corrupted system driven by profits, where suspicious donations and corporate interests take priority over player development, competitive fairness, and the passion of the game. As long as money dictates every decision, true progress in U.S. soccer is impossible. It’s time for the American soccer community to demand better—real competition, real investment in the sport.
