Saw this today, what a great way to word it- why do we constantly expect our learners to ‘fit in’ and change to respond to the way we teach, without changing the way we teach to support them? Reflective practice is an integral part of teaching. When a student can’t understand something- reflect on how you’re explaining it. When a student won’t engage- reflect on what they enjoy and bring their learning to life. Neurodivergence exists in every classroom, everywhere. It’s time we begin changing our teaching to suit the way they learn.
