Principle Power’s WindFloat, Glosten's PelaStar, Technip Energies’ INO15, Stiesdal’s Tetra Triple-One, and ESTEYCO’s WHEEL floating wind platforms are the winners of the second phase of the FLoating Offshore Wind ReadINess (FLOWIN) Prize in the United States, set up to support technologies that can facilitate mass production and deployment of #floatingwind turbines.

This is a strategic response to delays and challenges, particularly those linked to turbine issues. The decision ensures installation continuity and helps mitigate risks as the project works towards its completion target. It highlights the project’s adaptability in addressing supply chain and operational challenges while keeping its long-term objectives on track.

🇺🇸 US company Friede & Goldman, Ltd. have been given approval in principle for their offshore wind BargeRack solution. BargeRack is designed to enhance the efficiency and safety of feedering offshore wind turbines that enable the direct lifting of wind turbine components from a fixed deck directly to the foundation. This eliminates redundant handling and streamlines the installation processes. Featuring a side-mounted configuration with an integrated deck skidding system, which optimises space utilisation, BargeRack is engineered to accommodate most existing barges without major modifications. 🆕SOV concept for floating offshore wind farms incoming... It's great to hear about this collaboration to create a new SOV concept specifically for floating offshore wind.  Given the growing pipeline of potential floating offshore wind projects, developing support vessels and other infrastructure to cope with the specific challenges presented by floating offshore wind makes a lot of sense. Improving the transfer process between vessels and floating platforms would offer significant safety and efficiency improvements during offshore operations in the deeper waters utilised by floating wind farms. A consortium of leading offshore wind developers and Tier 1 suppliers has launched a joint industry project to commercialize the C1 Wedge Connection™ technology by C1 Connections. The project, involving bp, TotalEnergies, RWE, Vattenfall, EnBW, Iberdrola, OW Ocean Winds, Ørsted, Equinor, Siemens Gamesa, Vestas, and GE Vernova, aims to establish a new standard for offshore wind connections. Dogger Bank Wind Farm has signed a vessel reservation agreement with Seaway7, part of the Subsea7 Group, to charter a second turbine installation vessel to support the ongoing delivery of the offshore wind farm off the coast of England 🚢 Starting in 2026, the Seaway Ventus jack-up installation vessel is expected to commence turbine transport and installation work of GE Vernova Haliade-X offshore wind turbines at the Dogger Bank site.
