In line with the APDP 2 amendments, the AITF is unlocking even greater opportunities for entrepreneurs across the automotive value chain. “We’re expanding our focus beyond the original seven OEMs to include Tier 1 manufacturers, opening doors for more entrepreneurs to drive localisation within the industry,” said Jabulani Selumane, AITF CEO at the recent naamsa | The Automotive Business Council #SAAutoWeek conference. “This goes beyond increasing local content – it’s about deepening localisation and building a sustainable foundation for the future of automotive manufacturing in South Africa.” By fostering innovation and investment in critical areas such as new energy vehicles (NEV) infrastructure, battery manufacturing, and sustainable production, AITF is positioning South Africa to compete on the global stage in the rapidly evolving automotive sector. That’s why partnerships with key industry bodies like the National Association of Automotive Component and Allied Manufacturers (NAACAM) are crucial. Hear from Renai Moothilal, Executive Director of NAACAM, as he shares insights on the significance of this collaboration with AITF: https://lnkd.in/dD8cSeaC #AutomotiveIndustryTransformatiobFund #AITF #AutoFund #Automotive #NAACAM #APDP #SAAM35 #SAAutomotiveMasterplan

The meeting was attended by representatives from both companies, as well as key officials from the Ministry, including Secretary General Khalid Cherkaoui and representatives from various departments, such as the Strategic Development and Innovation Departments.
