Barrick Gold Corporation | Barrick Gold Investments | Geophysx Jamaica | Robert Stewart | Partnership Agreement between Barrick Gold (International Holdings) Ltd. and Geophysx Jamaica. The Agreement initially provides Barrick with access to approximately 4,000 square kilometers of consolidated land positions throughout the country, with a favorable geological setting comparable to the Dominican Republic, where Barrick operates the Pueblo Viejo mine. Barrick will have the right to work with Geophysx to earn up to an 80% joint-venture interest in designated properties upon fulfillment of certain spending obligations and study-deliverable milestones. The Mineral and Energy Resources and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2024 (MEROLA Bill) was approved by the Queensland Parliament on 12 June. This legislation is set to streamline regulatory processes and bolster the resources sector in Queensland. Key amendments include: 👉 The Minister for Resources and Critical Minerals can decide when and how to re-release land for exploration. 👉 Allowing the Minister to delay or reduce rent in special situations, like natural disasters. 👉 Introducing a threshold-based framework for aerial surveys conducted at 1000 feet or above, simplifying procedures for resource companies. 👉 Fossickers must now obtain permission from any related mining lease applicants before fossicking. 👉 Clearer industry reporting requirements and compliance rules will support transparency and accountability. When you build a bridge to "get over it" it shows others it is possible. This bridge was constructed to help support a gold mine. It is no longer functional, yet it serves as a reminder that it is possible to achieve success.
