Have you ever wanted to participate in a clinical trial, but didn't know where to start? Have you ever tried to participate in a trial but the inclusion/exclusion criteria was too restrictive? What about distance and associated cost? Can you even access a trial from your location? Have you had a stellar experience in a trial? What about a negative one? As rare and chronic disease patients, sometimes clinical trials are the only hope at access to new treatments, off-label use of medication, new medication, and even testing that otherwise we would never have access too. Without research and development, trials, and more (or any) FDA approved options, the cost and burden of not only medical care, but wasted time, energy, and hope becomes overwhelmingly the responsibility of the patient and their family.
