Armine Galstyan, a Principal at SmartGateVC discusses her journey of a young Armenian woman supporting Deep Tech Founders in the Forbes article by Melissa Houston, CPA. Here are the key takeaways shared by Armine: 1) Pre-seed companies often require mentorship, technical insight, and a clear roadmap. 2) It is important for investors to ask right questions: - Do the founders have the right expertise? - Is the IP and technology meaningful? - Can we add value? 3) The goal to become a partner in their success, not a mere investor. 4) Building ecosystems is critical: - Hero House is the space (Yerevan and in LA) where founders, researchers, and investors exchange ideas and build lasting connections. - The impact lies in the sense of founder community, where challenges are shared, and victories are celebrated. 👉 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/dyV4vQGB

In 2020, before I joined the Technical.ly newsroom, I made the RealLIST Connectors list in Baltimore. It is how Techncial.ly honors the most connective community members in our markets. Here is our list in Baltimore from last year: https://lnkd.in/eVUnPYCT Know someone who runs an accelerator, is advancing policy changes, holds sway within government IT, connects young technologists to jobs, hosts a meetup, or just knows about all the cool tech events and always tells you? Nominate them! My colleague Kaela Roeder is looking for folks in DC too. Here's how to nominate a person or company for the RealLIST Startups, RealLIST Connectors or, RealLIST Engineers, any time: https://lnkd.in/eDPnSXkT

At this stage in MindPsy’s journey, it’s about getting out there, keeping an ear to the ground and learning from those who have gone before us. The value of events that bring together a network of inspiring people who lead businesses from the ‘just getting started’ up to unicorn status is incredible. Connecting with people who are facing the same challenges, or who have been there and can help us to navigate, is exactly what will help fulfill the mission that Kath Easthope and Phill Robinson set out to achieve when they set up Boardwave to move Europe to an equal footing with the US when it comes to tech growth. We heard about the less than straight lines to success, and the advice and mindset required to get through what can sometimes feel like chasms between the peaks with Vin Murria OBE DBA Elona Mortimer-Zhika and Martin Ott We understood the most fertile environment for tech growth in the UK is a compost of supportive policy and regulation, ecosystem collaboration and competition, and the opportunity to disrupt incumbents. We learned How Ai can accelerate that growth, when used in specific and specialist verticals rather than generalist ways, and had the opportunity to learn from two leaders Joaquim Lecha and Rich Waterworth about how they found successful market share and growth in an already dominated market. I was also given the opportunity for a great mentoring session with Nick Black who helped me to prioritise the challenges and focus on our differentiation. All in all, an inspirational day curated by two mission driven founders whose passion shone through the entire day, and whose ethics were clear to see through the impact partners they support and work with (and who i had the pleasure to meet) Cure Parkinson's Maths4Girls. Well done Boardwave team! And last but certainly not least, we were treated to how Ai can integrate with the arts where Move AI created a live (real time) avatar through motion capture (without the suit) - video below to enjoy!

Success is a journey with its fair share of challenges and growth opportunities, made easier when guided by the best. Dr. Fin Williams shared invaluable insights at the Broadwave event, which I found three key takeaways: 1. Networking is Key: Connecting with experienced entrepreneurs offers vital insights, guidance, and connections crucial for overcoming challenges. 2. UK's Tech Growth: Thriving in tech demands more than innovation; it thrives in a supportive ecosystem of policies, competition, and collaboration, and AI can be a game-changer. 3. Mentorship Matters: Mentorship plays a pivotal role in defining priorities and highlighting what sets a business apart. These events serve as a platform to unite individuals and foster growth. #TechGrowth #FutureHealth #MentorshipMatters #AIInnovation #Entrepreneurship

Last week I attended the DC Start Up and Tech Week. 🎉 Seema Alexander, Rachel Koretsky and their team created an event that exceeded my expectations with a prolific and engaging cache of panels, fireside chats and keynotes that got me amped up and helped me rethink some of my future plans. Super exciting! Takeaways: With all that I learned, 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡-𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏𝐒. 👉🏼 Venture Capitalists talked about the importance of the relationship they build with the founders they fund. 👉🏼 Founders talked about the vital support they received from their peers to help them keep going and provide essential feedback. 👉🏼 Non-tech founders talked about the guidance they received through the relationships built in their accelerators. 👉🏼 Content creators honored the relationships they built with members in their communities. My axiom for startups working to navigate The Media Mosaic — our highly fractured media environment — is to find the niches that move the needle. The people who will actually drive growth and improve the health of the business, directly and indirectly, often represent a tiny, miniscule, nigh infinitesimal sliver of the overall population. The latest from Eleanor Hawkins of Axios aligns with my take. 🔗 for my essay, The Media Mosaic: https://bit.ly/3VOGRDT 🔗 for Axios: https://bit.ly/3VQhNwj

Young entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders (ages 15-24) are redefining professional language. Forget "circling back" or "thinking outside the box" – think "𝘳𝘪𝘻𝘻" and "𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘺." 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤: Even though we could barely understand each other, Gen Z founders blew me away with their innovative ideas and maturity at Tech Week NYC! (Also, despite AI buzz, many young Americans aren't even using it daily.) So grab your Urban Dictionary and follow along as the evolving tech dialogue and generational gap converges.
