More often than not our default assumptions aren’t always helpful and can create invisible barriers for others. Do some of these stereotypical assumptions sound familiar to those you’ve made before? A useful habit to develop is checking in with our first judgement and questioning it. It’s up to all of us to consistently challenge our default. More helpful, positive associations will make space to reduce barriers and increase potential. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gpeUg2S5 #EndTheStereotypes

What an incredibly powerful statement...love this! We have a responsibility to interrogate and challenge our assumptions and change our behaviour accordingly. After all the world is changed by our behaviour not our opinion *Assume that I can, so maybe I will!* https://lnkd.in/dmzvHaCq #inclusionmatters #diversityequityandinclusion #changeyourmindset #downsyndrome #downsyndromeawareness

Today is World Down Syndrome Day. This year's theme is "End the Stereotypes". Great two-minutes video from COORDOWN about how our core beliefs can shape our reality. Our negative beliefs and expectations about people with Down Syndrome can lead us to treat them in such a way that these assumptions ultimately become reality. Start assuming that they can!!! https://lnkd.in/eUcsAscY

Most of us have a peculiar habit of projecting our errors onto others. 🪞 Whether it be a sour mood, a false belief, or even just an innocent mistake, it’s a whole lot easier to call out others’ flaws rather than admit to them ourselves. It turns out, this concept isn’t new. Back in the early 20th century, Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung identified transference as when we unconsciously project our subjective experience onto someone or something else. According to Jung, transference itself isn’t inherently bad — that is, if we are able to identify it for what it is. By recognizing that we are seeing ourselves in others, we can turn what may have been hypocrisy into humility, and ultimately, self acceptance. But how do we stop projecting onto others? Check out last week’s session recording to find out 👉 https://lnkd.in/gm4UX6wt Make self acceptance part of your routine by joining ✨15 Minutes of Positivity✨ today 👉 https://lnkd.in/gCfmw6cD
