This impressive achievement highlights the Kingdom’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its digital infrastructure, fully aligning with the ambitious goals of Vision 2030. With over 300 government digital services now available to citizens and residents, and a significant rise in e-government rankings, Saudi Arabia is setting new standards for digital accessibility and innovation. This progress facilitates more efficient and seamless interactions between the government and the public, paving the way for a more connected and forward-thinking society. As we continue to lead in the digital space, I’m excited to see how these advancements will shape the future of various industries within the Kingdom and beyond.

Digital Transformation Summit 2024, A Milestone Success for the ICT Sector The Digital Transformation Summit 2024, themed "Navigating Digital Transformation Towards 50 Years & Beyond: Collaborative Governance & Innovation," took place from October 1st to 3rd at the Stanley Hotel, Port Moresby. This momentous event brought together government leaders, digital experts, digital transformation officers, and key stakeholders to showcase progress in their respective organizations, and to highlight plans moving forward in the sector, as the nation approaches 50 years of independence. The summit is discovered pathways for more collaboration, governance, and innovation through strategic initiatives aimed at modernizing public service delivery. With a focus on technology-driven solutions, the Digital Transformation Summit established Papua New Guinea as a frontrunner in digital government transformation in the Pacific region. An ICT Delegation from the Solomon Islands, led by Hon. Fredercik Kologeto Minister for Communication and Aviation was in attendance at Summit. An MoU for ICT Corporation was proposed between PNG and Solomon Islands. The summit featured several major events over the course of the three days, including: Launch of the eGovernment Portal, Launch of 'Gavamani Tok Tok': A government newspaper, Launch of the DICT Corporate Plan, MoU and MSA between DICT and PNG DataCo. This week, I had the privilege of attending the Digital Technology Forum 2024, which highlighted Saudi Arabia's rapidly growing tech landscape and key industry advancements: 📊 Saudi Tech Market Expansion: Saudi Arabia’s tech market reached 91 billion SAR in 2023, with an impressive 11% compound annual growth rate (CAGR). The tech sector now boasts 20 listed companies with a combined market value of 148 billion SAR. These numbers reaffirm the Kingdom's progress toward becoming a global tech hub. 🚀 Saudi-Made Innovation: One of the forum's most exciting announcements was the launch of Saudi-made servers by HPE & Alfanar. This initiative aligns with the Saudi Made program, and the servers are now set to be exported globally, showcasing the country's growing capabilities in tech manufacturing and export. 🏆 Co-Innovation Award: This year’s Co-Innovation Award celebrated the efforts of DocCerts, Faseeh, and Muneer for their innovative collaborations between service providers and end-users. According to #GSMA report about MENA #mobile_economy. 5G rollout and adoption is growing rapidly in the GCC states, which have now emerged as global #5G leaders. By 2030, average 5G adoption in the #GCC states will reach 95%, compared to the global average of 54%. In these countries, 5G is set to play a foundational role in the implementation of various smart city initiatives. 5G adoption in the rest of MENA will lag behind the global average by 10 percentage points by 2030. This is partly due to the delay in the commercial launch of the technology in several key markets, including Turkey and countries in North Africa. on the other hand the same reports mentioned that #Revenue is expected to #grow steadily in the region as operators continue diversifying services. Services beyond core are becoming an increasingly important part of the growth story for operators in MENA. Zain reported a 52% year-on-year uplift in digital services revenue and 28% annual growth in #B2B revenues. Meanwhile, STC announced it will spend an additional $300 million (on top of its original $500 million investment) on STV, a technology venture capital fund aimed at accelerating innovation in #Saudi Arabia.  The above info gave us a clear idea about the market direction and where the big investment should be. The #Iraqi market is somehow ready for a jump. Yet , the challenges are there when it come to infrastructure and regulations.
