Growing demand for diverse content: Audiences are increasingly demanding more diverse content, leading to a growing market for stories told by and about people of color. New talent emerging: A new generation of Black creatives is emerging, with fresh perspectives and innovative ideas. LA is home to the entertainment capital of the world, with many opportunities for people of color to work in the media industry. The LA County Department of Arts and Culture also offers various programs and initiatives to support diversity and inclusion in the arts. NYC offers a range of opportunities for people of color to work in the industry. The city is also home to many organizations focused on diversity and inclusion, such as the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ). Atlanta has become a major hub for film and TV production in recent years, with many shows and movies filmed in the city. The Atlanta Film Festival and the Atlanta Film Society offer resources and opportunities for local filmmakers and industry professionals. Chicago is a major hub for media and entertainment in the Midwest, with a growing number of film and TV production companies. The city is also home to several organizations focused on diversity and inclusion, such as the Chicago Media Project and the Black Women's Expo. Austin has become a hotbed for film and TV production in recent years, with many shows and movies filmed.The Austin Film Festival and the Austin Film Society Austin Black Film Festival. Establish a diversity initiative: Create a dedicated program within the industry to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. Pair minority professionals with experienced mentors from underrepresented groups. Establish grants or funding opportunities specifically for minority-led projects or initiatives. Offer cultural competency training, scriptwriting workshops, and production skills training for underrepresented groups. Collaborations and partnerships: Partner with organizations that serve minority communities to develop content that resonates with those audiences. Diverse hiring practices: Implement blind casting calls, diverse interview panels, and inclusive job descriptions to increase representation in key roles. Community engagement: Engage with local communities of color to understand their needs, concerns, and interests. Festival and market opportunities: Create platforms for minority-led projects to showcase their work and connect with industry professionals. Industry accountability: Hold the industry accountable for its lack of representation by tracking diversity metrics and setting targets for improvement. Inclusive business models: Develop business models that prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion, such as revenue-sharing models that benefit creators from underrepresented groups.

In an article by the Sports Business Journal, they talk about the lack of structure in the college football world from the recent chaos of conference realignment to media rights. I disagree with their idea of completely reshaping the conference landscape and replacing staple conferences like the BIG10 and SEC with a new 72-team format that is divided into twelve conferences because it’s too drastic of a shift from the current system. I agree with their idea that media rights need to be sorted out because the system itself is causing leakages of cash flow everywhere. This is because each conference makes its own media deal for the season, but a separate entity makes the media deals for the postseason and playoff. #CFB #Realignment #Change #Media
