> Leads at trade shows rarely engage on their own.
> They'll fit your ICP to a T and still walk right by.
> So here's how to 10x your trade show prospects.
Rules:
> People are more engaging than products / services
> People who actively engage people, even more so.
> People actively engaging people to play: Ideal!
> A booth with engaging people playing games: 💯
> A booth with people just sitting there: ☠️
What we did:
> Put
our most extroverted talkative people out front.
> One on either side of the aisle with nowhere to sit.
> Acted like carnival barkers inviting people to shoot.
> Invited, exhorted, and entreated EVERYONE to play.
> 1st: energized people with play. 2nd: talked to them.
Why it works:
> Everyone is slightly reserved with their attention.
> The default at a convention is look and walk past.
> But few people can help but warm up to fun games.
> Especially with no barrier to entry: "It's just for fun!"
> "And you can toss your card in the jar for Leafs Tx"
> By then, it's not about the tickets but the connection.
> And since they had fun, they reciprocate with time.
> And for every 5 you engage with not in your ICP...
> You find the 1 who is who would have walked by.
> Thus, our networking exploded compared to others.
> Who sat there bored on their phones for 2.5 days.
> All it took was some hockey nets, sticks, and pucks.
> But really, it was people inviting people to play.
> Or just bring a competitive racing simulator 😏
> Those guys had a literal crowd around the booth.
