U.S. Cyber Command, through the Defense Innovation Unit, has begun the process to standardize the gear that defensive cyber teams use to perform their missions. That effort will now also combine the equipment cyber protection teams use with the kit for hunt-forward operations performed by the Cyber National Mission Force, Cybercom’s elite unit tasked with defending the nation against significant digital threats. Hunt-forward operations, conceptualized over five years ago, involve physically sending defensively oriented cyber protection teams to foreign countries to hunt for threats on their networks at the invitation of host nations. https://lnkd.in/es-wjHfz

U.S. Cyber Command recently announced it will increase the complexity of its premier training platform, Persistent Cyber Training Environment (PCTE), to better prepare the agency's cyber mission force amid increasingly sophisticated threats. DefenseScoop says the platform will now feature more complex actors and simulations in multidomain scenarios, mirroring the dynamic threat landscape facing today’s cyberwarriors. At TeamWorx Security, we understand the crucial role of proper cyber training in defending against these threats. That’s why our TWX Academy has trained more than 4,000 analysts globally, providing comprehensive educational resources that are continuously updated with insights from U.S. military and intelligence community best practices. Some people think the U.S. should create a separate Cyber Force to handle cybersecurity threats more effectively, with its own experts and resources. Supporters believe it could better address growing cybersecurity threats with dedicated experts and resources. Critics worry it may cost too much, create confusion, and duplicate the work of the existing Cyber Command, which is already making progress. As Congress considers studying this proposal, the key question remains: would it enhance national cybersecurity, or risk spreading resources too thin? What do you think?
