🎉 Christmas parties are a great way to thank your team for their hard work. When organising your festive gathering, consider: ✅ Choosing a venue and theme that suits all employees. ✅ Offering both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. ✅ Including activities that encourage team bonding. ✅ Making attendance optional to avoid pressuring anyone. A well-planned party is more than just a fun night – it is an opportunity to strengthen team relationships and show your appreciation.

🎉 Celebrating one year of hygge associates! 🎉 It’s hard to believe it’s already been a year since we launched hygge associates. Balancing starting a new business whilst doing the day job has had its challenges, but it’s been absolutely worth it. This year has been a rollercoaster of highs and lows, teaching us that persistence, resilience, and self-belief are key. Now we’re beginning to see the rewards of our hard work. Would we have done things differently? Perhaps. We’ve talked to other people who have left their jobs entirely to start their businesses, who have told me they wish they’d taken our path. What we’ve learned is that there’s no right or wrong way—just different approaches, each with its own merits. As we look ahead, we’re excited about what the next year will bring. At hygge associates, people development and wellbeing are at the heart of what we do. We'd also like to thank everyone who has supported us as well as our clients. We offer training, coaching, and consulting to workplaces as well as private individuals. Want to learn more? 🌟 Why Team Building Matters 🌟 In today’s fast-paced work environment, successful companies understand that growth is built on strong teams. That's why investing in team-building activities is more important than ever! Here are a few reasons why team-building initiatives can make a difference: 🔹 Enhanced Collaboration Team-building exercises break down silos, encouraging people from different departments to connect and work together. This helps bridge gaps, creates open communication channels, and fosters a collaborative culture. 🔹 Boosted Morale and Engagement Happy teams are productive teams! Engaging in fun, non-work-related activities can refresh and re-energize employees, making them feel valued and motivated. This often leads to improved job satisfaction and higher retention rates. 🔹 Increased Trust and Empathy Through challenges and activities, colleagues can understand each other's strengths, weaknesses, and working styles. Building trust within teams is key to creating a positive work environment where people feel comfortable expressing ideas and giving feedback. 🔹 Better Problem-Solving Skills Team-building often includes activities that require creative problem-solving, pushing employees to think outside the box. This can lead to enhanced critical thinking skills that benefit projects and client solutions down the line. When a company invests in its people, it shows! It was so special to celebrate our 10th birthday with clients, past and present D&Co folks, and their families. We had a blast dusting off the BBQ, diving into DJ BBQ's Ultimate Burgers, savouring Julian's amazing cocktails, enjoying Jeremy on the decks, and playing some fun garden games. Reflecting on this incredible journey, we captured it all in a newspaper-style tabloid doc - reminiscing about the early days and the nerve-wracking decision to go out on my own. That choice meant turning down a significant earn-in directorship with one of Australasia's best independent brand agencies. But we’ve never looked back. I’m so proud of what we’ve built and continue to build at D&Co. We’ve created a business where everyone works to the beat of their own drum. There’s no office politics, very few late nights, no weekend work - thanks very much! We’re there for the school pickups, we kiteboard, surf, or golf when we can. We have fun, we give back, and we do good. It’s incredibly rewarding, and I absolutely love it. Of course, it hasn’t all been smooth sailing. We’ve had to navigate some challenging times, but here we are - having fun and delivering incredible work for businesses big and small. Here’s to the next 10 years! As we celebrate the 5th birthday 🎂 of EdCo LATAM Consulting, I had a think about five important learnings from the journey so far. 1. Understanding and addressing partner needs is important. Whilst we work with partners in the same industry, each have different aims and objectives so we need to tailor our services and listen carefully to what success looks like for our partners. 2. Building a team is challenging but very rewarding. At EdCo LATAM Consulting we have a great team and it is important to have the right team members working with each of our partners. Carefully matching skills set, experience and styles of working. This is vital and an area we are working hard on. 3. Perseverance and resilience are key skills needed to build a business. This reminds me of a quote from Muhammad Ali which I think of regularly “The fight is won away from witnesses – behind the lines, in the gym, and out there on the road, long before I dance under those lights”. We get rejections / unanswered proposals - we keep going 4. Successful relationships are developed through listening, understanding and taking action on feedback. Face to face meetings are the best way of really understanding partner needs. 5. Innovation and reporting on market trends is becoming increasingly important to our business. In five short years, technological advancement and AI have had a big (mostly positive) impact on our industry. A big thanks to everyone I have had the opportunity to meet and work with over the last 5 years – Here’s to the next five and I feel like we are just getting started 😊

Most people expect to receive some sort of gift of appreciation at work during the holidays. In the last week, I’ve attended two professional holiday parties where people won prizes, delicious food was served, and entertainment was enjoyed. Christmas is the traditional time to plan events like this for the people we work with. How can we recreate this magic and appreciation at other times of the year, not just around Christmas? I’ve seen organizations do all sorts of incentives throughout the year to show appreciation for their people to make them feel seen as humans, rather than just a number. These activities also increase their employee retention. Trips, contests, scotch tape races, you name it. 🤣 Holiday parties are so fun, don’t get me wrong. It’s also the time when people expect it. What happens when you reward your people when they aren’t expecting it? Lots of good things. Improved mental health, job satisfaction, and productivity at work. Just to name a few. If our entire energy and budget goes towards one party a year, perhaps there are ways we can adjust to make people feel seen the rest of the year too, when they are less likely to expect it. There something special about the element of surprise appreciation. Plus, scotch tape races down the hall are pretty cheap and so fun. What do you do to make others feel seen & appreciated when they’re not expecting it? #julielee #iseeyouleadership #theconnectedleader

🎉 MyProSkill.Expert Christmas FUN Challenge – 16th Day! 🎄 ✨ "Innovation is seeing what everybody has seen and thinking what nobody has thought." – Albert Szent-Györgyi On December 16, 1773, the Boston Tea Party made history as a bold and creative act of protest, symbolising the power of innovation and collective action. It showed the world that sometimes, breaking the mold is the first step toward meaningful change. Santa’s team faces the challenge of delivering billions of gifts every year, and innovation is key to ensuring that his sleigh keeps flying efficiently. But innovation isn’t just about coming up with ideas - it’s about working together to find solutions that transform challenges into opportunities. What is the first step to revolutionising Santa’s delivery process this Christmas? 🎄Today’s Christmas Challenge! ✨ If Santa’s team wanted to evolve their delivery process through innovation, what’s the first step? 🔸 a) Brainstorming creative solutions as a team 🔹 b) Avoiding change to stick with tradition 🔸 c) Only focusing on small tweaks without risk 🔹 d) Assigning innovation to a single person 🎁 Drop your answers in the comments below! Innovation thrives on collaboration and creativity. Think about how teamwork and fresh ideas can drive positive changes, whether at the North Pole or in your workplace. Hint: The best innovations come from collective efforts, not isolated decisions! ❄️Season’s Greetings to All! Today, I had the joy of hosting a Christmas party for my team at home. It was incredible to see everyone make the effort to drive a long way, not for a meeting or a deadline, but simply to connect. As we laughed, reminisced about our team's history, and reflected on how far we’ve come, it struck me: in the whirlwind of everyday tasks and deadlines, we rarely go beyond a quick “Hi, how’s it going?” Moments like these remind me why our work matters—not just the what we do but the who we do it with. These are the people who make long days feel lighter, who collaborate selflessly, and who embody the “no jerk policy” that has helped our culture thrive, even as we grow exponentially. Seeing smiles across the room instead of heads buried in laptops was a refreshing change. It reaffirmed that it’s people and connections that turn hard work into something fulfilling. So, this holiday season, I encourage everyone to pause. Take time to celebrate your wins, reflect on your journey, and connect with your teams—not just as colleagues, but as humans. Because at the end of the day, there’s no “I” in team, and the success of any organization is built on the strength of its people working together. Happy Holidays, everyone! Let’s keep the spirit of connection alive. 🎉✨
