In a proactive move to safeguard the well-being of Hajj pilgrims, Saudi Arabia's Roads General Authority has implemented a project to cover the asphalt around Arafat's Namira Mosque with a white coating. This innovative measure aims to mitigate the impact of scorching heat on pilgrims, ensuring their comfort and safety during this sacred journey. By reducing surface temperatures, the white coating provides pilgrims with a cooler environment to perform their religious rituals with ease. Saudi Arabia's commitment to enhancing pilgrimage experiences underscores its dedication to serving the needs of Hajj participants and preserving the sanctity of this significant event. #SaudiArabia #Hajj #Pilgrims #Arafat #HeatProtection #RoadsGeneralAuthority #Innovation #SafetyFirst #PilgrimageExperience #creativesandconcepts #creativespakistan Read More=> https://lnkd.in/esNw2n_d

“It was clear that this was not there by chance,” says Abdullah Alkadi, who in 2005 encountered what is now catalogued as milestone 12 while conducting field research along the route of the Prophet Muhammad’s journey across the desert plateaus and through the rocky hills between #Makkah and #Madinah. The discovery, he says, “triggered a 16-year, obsessive quest … to seek out more marker stones and establish their significance and relationship to each other.” … With the coming of #Islam in the seventh century CE …, marked distances like mil and derived multiples such as the marhalah took on religious significances, too. The marhalah, explains Alkadi, “was used to determine the exact minimum distance the faithful could travel on a journey in order to be able to shorten or combine prayer. The distance would also make travelers eligible for other dispensations, including [exemption from] fasting in #Ramadan.” Alkadi goes on to explain that to earn such dispensations, travelers were required to be on a journey covering at least two marhalah in the same direction. … The relatively human scale and proportions of so many of the milestones likely offered a kind of anthropomorphic reassurance to travelers in lands where comforts were few and risks were plenty. “They are remarkably similar in dimension to the human form,” he says—even more from a mil or so away, at which distance they might resemble or evoke a fellow traveler. Some, such as milestone 17, even lean in ways that make them resemble a person walking, with the “weathered silhouette, viewed from either direction of travel, appearing remarkably human-like.” 》》Source: ‘Milestones to Makkah and Madinah’ by Peter Harrigan, Aramco World, Vol.72 No.6, November/December 2021.

Living Alone In Jeddah After spending more than 25 years in a busy family life, learning to live alone has been a big change. In Islam, we are taught that everything happens with Allah's wisdom, and this quiet time has given me a chance to turn inward and strengthen my connection with Him. At first, being alone felt empty, and I missed the constant presence of family. But slowly, I started to see these moments as an opportunity to be more closer to Allah, reflect, and be grateful for all His blessings. Simple moments, like having coffee alone or enjoying a meal, remind me that Allah’s presence is always with me, and I am never truly alone. This time alone has also made my relationship with my family stronger, just as Islam encourages us to keep ties. I still support them and am there for them, but now with more patience and kindness. By taking care of myself, I can be there for my family in a better way, as Islam encourages us to be the best version of ourselves for those we love. This balance between caring for myself and my family feels peaceful and natural. Living alone has also helped me improve at work. I approach tasks calmly and with focus, trusting in Allah’s guidance. I handle challenges with a steady heart, knowing that my inner peace comes from my faith. In this phase of life, solitude has become a gift. It’s not just about being alone; it’s a time to connect more deeply with Allah and to build strength and inner peace. Living alone doesn’t mean the end of family connections or personal growth, it’s a new chapter where I can be very closer to Allah, make a solid foundation within myself, and be a source of strength for those around me. This journey has shown me that by being strong for myself and placing more and more and more my trust in Allah, I can also be strong for others.
