Are You OK? It’s a simple question, yet it can be complex to answer. However, the power of asking "How are you doing?" or even "What’s the craic?" (a common Irish phrase for "What’s happening?") cannot be underestimated. If you notice someone struggling or sense that something feels off, take the time to connect and ask, "Are You OK?" This small act shows them that you see and care about them. It might feel uncomfortable to ask, but it's worth it. Empathy matters. Empathy is about understanding and sharing another person's feelings—not taking them on yourself but recognising and responding with compassion. Here’s why empathy is so powerful: - It soothes the brain's fear response (Amygdala), encouraging connection, cooperation, and collaboration. - It helps regulate the brain and nervous system. - It enhances body awareness, allowing individuals feel safer and more grounded. - It supports self-awareness and self-empathy, encouraging more expansive and positive beliefs. As someone who has experienced anxiety throughout my adult life, I know how isolating it can feel. But I also know the difference it makes when someone checks in, when I felt able to share the load. On this R U OK? Day, I encourage you to start noticing those around you and reach out to ask, "Are you OK?"—not just today, but every day. And if you’re someone who feels alone, isolated, or is having a challenging time, I encourage you to be honest when someone asks, "Are You OK?" Even saying, "I'm having a hard time right now," holds so much power. #RUOK #RUOKDAY #RUOKANYDAY

In this episode I share how the conference in Colorado went. It was amazing! Colorado runs a great conference, and this was their best turn out ever! We had two hours to discuss posture, and I think we opened some minds. I also share that we were waitlisted for the AOTA conference in 2025. I'm bummed but it's ok. We'll keep plugging away at getting the science of fascia into the hands of OT practitioners and others who are open! Take a course and keep listening! The Fascia-Informed Therapist ™ - Grounded in science. Practicing on the cutting edge. (fasciainformed.com)
We got waitlisted! Ugh.
