Unable to defend themselves. https://lnkd.in/gRE5gUxE The USA is a country of immigrants and settlers from Europe by the millions, except for the Indigenous communities, mostly cleansed or exterminated during the colonizing wars. Still, at the time, mostly Germans and Irish or whites came in millions and millions, and they harmed minorities to no end. https://lnkd.in/gUh7Z4Uj Europeans and American slave traders transported nearly 12.5 million enslaved Africans to the Americas. Of this number, approximately 10.7 million people have been disembarked alive in the Americas. https://lnkd.in/gWWEw7BX Today, an estimated 2.4 million farmworkers work on farms and ranches in the United States. Most farmworkers are immigrants; approximately 36% lack authorized work status under current U.S. laws. In many places, they are used as slaves or jailed and made work for a dollar a day. Of course, the hate for minorities among the #republicans is very obvious, and they only like the minorities who vote for them and are willing to stay as second-status citizens. Many in Central and South America and other parts of the globe face qualifying circumstances today, which has driven a record number of migrant encounters and crossings along the U.S. Southern border each year. The two major parties have long disagreed on ways to manage this influx, leading to a U.S. #immigration system that appears ill-equipped for the age it is in and increasingly hostile conditions for those seeking entry.   What are ways in which the U.S. could attempt immigration reform?
