⚙️ New online toolkit available on preventing head injury in young children! Children often bump their heads during play and everyday life. While most of these head bumps don’t cause serious injury or harm, some injures can affect the brain. That’s why CDC partnered with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) to create the Preventing Head Injuries in Young Children Toolkit. The toolkit includes loads of information on falls prevention, including infographics, videos, and tip sheets. Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/em8JKKYv

Dr. Dipesh Navsaria, a pediatrician, affiliate faculty member of the iSchool, and a professor of pediatrics in the UW School of Medicine and Public Health, was a co-author of the new literacy promotion policy statement and report from the American Academy of Pediatrics. The work provides new recommendations on how pediatricians, parents and others can encourage literacy among young children. "We find that the turning of paper pages, and the fact that there’s not other distractions in a paper book that can exist on electronic devices, make them a better choice," Navsaria told Wisconsin Public Radio. Children have a natural ability to immerse themselves in imagination and fantasy, making them especially receptive to hypnotherapy. Unlike adults, they don't have the same cognitive barriers, allowing them to benefit more deeply from this therapeutic approach. 🌟🧠 "Because children engage in imagination and fantasy easily without the cognitive inhibitions of adults, they are able to use hypnosis more readily than adults." ~ Some Guidelines for Uses of Hypnotherapy in Pediatrics | Pediatrics | American Academy of Pediatrics 🌙☁️ At Sleeptime Therapy®, we harness the power of your child's vivid imagination to create impactful and transformative hypnotherapy sessions. Our guided activations help children address behavioral issues, manage anxiety, and develop positive habits in a way that feels natural and engaging to them. 👶💡 Practical Tip for Parents: Encourage your child's imagination through storytelling and creative play. This not only fosters their cognitive development but also prepares them for effective hypnotherapy sessions that can bring about meaningful change. 👉 Share in the comments: What imaginative activities does your child love? How do you think hypnotherapy could benefit them? ----------- #PositiveParenting #ChildWellbeing #ImaginationPower #HypnotherapyForKids #BehavioralChange #AnxietyRelief #ChildHealth #SleeptimeTherapy

📱✨ The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends minimizing or eliminating media exposure for children under 18 months (other than video chatting). For preschool-age kids, it's important to have limits! Here’s how you can manage media to get the most benefits: 👨👩👧👦 Co-view or co-play with your children whenever possible! Find fun activities that are healthy for both mind and body—reading, talking, and playing together are all great options. 👶 When you can’t actively engage in play, supervised independent play (like having your child explore nesting cups while you cook) is more beneficial than screen time. 💤 All children need adequate sleep (8-12 hours), physical activity (at least 1 hour), and time away from media. Try designating media-free times (like during family meals) and media-free zones (like bedrooms). Don’t let devices disrupt their rest! 📱 And don’t forget—your own media use can impact your child. Develop a personalized Family Media Plan that fits your family's unique needs, and make sure other caregivers are on the same page! https://lnkd.in/eRmRebg8
