My final year in VEX IQ Robotics (2023 - 2024) was by far the most challenging but also the most rewarding. After switching teams, I decided to start a new team based out of my house. With all-new members who had never been in robotics before, I had to take on the role of a teacher right from the start. I spent the early part of the season explaining the basics—how to build, program, and approach the design process—while trying to keep our team on track for competition. Unfortunately, the journey was far from smooth. One of our teammates had to leave early in the season due to other commitments, which put more pressure on the remaining two of us. By December, my other teammate also had to step back due to upcoming competitions, leaving me to carry the entire team on my own. Balancing everything—robotics, school, extracurriculars, and preparing for high school—was overwhelming. I pulled all-nighters just to keep our team moving forward, knowing how much this season meant to me as my last year in middle school. Despite all the struggles, there were moments of triumph. At States, I had little hope we’d make it to Nationals given all the setbacks, but when our team was called during the announcements, it was a surreal and emotional moment. At Nationals, I knew we had one last chance to make an impact. I poured everything I had into preparing, and our hard work paid off when we were awarded the CREATE Award—recognizing our team for innovative and creative engineering solutions. That win was a culmination of all the late nights, tough decisions, and sheer determination to keep going. It wasn’t just about the trophy—it was about proving to myself that I could rise above challenges and deliver. Ending my VEX IQ journey on such a high note made all the struggles worth it, and I couldn’t be prouder of what I accomplished. #VEXIQ #Robotics #CREATEAward #Leadership #Resilience #STEM #Nationals

It was a pleasure to have the G3 Robotics FIRST team from Midtown High School visit Dematic 's Global Headquarters in Atlanta with their impressive robot, Dancing Queen, in tow for a live demonstration. The students explained their preparation process for upcoming competitions, and they shared how their participation on a FIRST Robotics team has exposed them to building essential skills for their future. There was one student in particular who had a wonderful story of her progress in robotics - she went from having zero knowledge to becoming a leader on her robotics team in just two years. Wow! A heartfelt thanks to Christian Rodriguez, my coworker and mentor for the G3 team, to Atlanta's 11Alive News for documenting this inspiring event, and to the Atlanta City Council and Metro Atlanta Chamberfor joining us. Such gatherings emphasize the significance of teamwork and innovation. Let's keep working together towards building the future! This morning the fabulous CORE Innovation Hub team hosted an incredible automation and robotics showcase at the Australian Automation and Robotics Precinct (AARP) during West Tech Fest. In the world of automation and robotics, it's easy to get caught up in the machines, algorithms, and tech on display. Our human skills; the ability to pivot, to troubleshoot, to see connections where others don't – are the true drivers of innovation. This morning was one of those days that you only get when working in start up land... my day started early using power tools to clear sand and debris, then troubleshooting a coffee machine, setting up safety zones, then test driving an electric vehicle, coordinating tech demo logistics + more... these moments showcase what is is to be human. We're not just operators; we're activators, coordinators, problem-solvers who breathe life into technology. As the Responsible Innovation Lead at the AARP, my role transcends traditional boundaries and job description. It's about understanding that technology is an extension of human capability, not a replacement for it. The startup ecosystem celebrates this – demanding versatility, encouraging cross-functional thinking, and valuing the human ability to adapt and overcome. In automation and robotics, our most sophisticated technology is still guided by human intuition, creativity and curiosity. These are the skills we should truly celebrate – and celebrate we did today!!!! Humans + Robots = Better Together #SafetyInnovation #Robotics #AARPotunity #WestTechFest #SafetyTech

During my undergrad, robotics was more than just a field of study—it was a passion that shaped my learning journey. I spent countless hours building, experimenting, and solving challenges, which ultimately defined my career aspirations. However, as I transitioned into the corporate world, I found myself moving away from this passion, prioritizing other professional goals. Now, as part of my master’s journey, I’ve taken a significant step back into the world of robotics. I recently completed a project using the MyCobot Pro 600 robotic arm, combining robotics, computer vision, and path planning to design a system that autonomously solves a 4x4 maze with precision. This wasn’t just about technical innovation—it was about reigniting the spark that first drew me to this field. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to my collaborators, Yash Rakesh and Darsh Patel, who played a crucial role in this achievement. Their support and insights were invaluable in bringing this project to life, and it’s been a privilege to work alongside them. This experience has been a reminder of how important it is to pursue what you love. Stepping back into robotics has not only sharpened my skills but also reinforced my passion for creating solutions that bridge innovation and real-world application. Here’s to rediscovering passions, embracing challenges, and building a future driven by curiosity and creativity! #Robotics #Rediscovery #MastersJourney #Collaboration #Innovation #PathPlanning #DigitalTwin #Teamwork

🌞 Reflecting on an Inspiring Experience at the FUN IN THE SUN Robotics Competition 🌞 Last year, I had the incredible honor of being the Guest Speaker at the FUN IN THE SUN Robotics Competition. Engaging with young, talented minds passionate about robotics and innovation was truly inspiring—and humbling. The competition is a powerful testament to teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving. Watching these students design, build, and program robots to tackle complex challenges—driver-controlled tasks and automated events—was a reminder of the exciting potential in the next generation of tech talent. One of the most impressive aspects? The detailed binders each team presented, documenting their entire process—from initial ideas to final prototypes. These binders reflect hours of planning, collaboration, and refinement. It’s not just about the robots; it's about developing critical thinking, resilience, and teamwork. And the best part? I’m thrilled to be returning in just over a month and a half—this time as a judge! I can’t wait to see what these brilliant students have created and how they’ve grown over the past year. 🚀 For anyone interested in the future of robotics and innovation, this is a must-watch event.
