At studio93, we live for projects that push boundaries—just like The Unit Challenge itself. When tasked with creating a teaser for this ultimate test of endurance, we knew it had to be more than just a highlight reel. It had to capture the grit, determination, and raw energy of what participants will face. Our Approach: • Dynamic Visuals: Every shot was designed to convey intensity, from grueling physical trials to moments of unyielding focus. • Immersive Sound: A powerful score paired with ambient effects brings viewers into the heart of the challenge. • Narrative Impact: This isn’t just a teaser—it’s a call to action. We wanted every viewer to feel inspired to ask themselves: Am I ready to rise to this? This wasn’t just about showcasing an event; it was about crafting an experience, setting the tone for what’s to come, and igniting a fire in every viewer. If you’re ready to push your limits, this is your sign. And if you’re looking to bring your next big vision to life, let’s talk. #VideoProduction #BehindTheScenes #TheUnitChallenge #StorytellingInAction

another stop motion film that I've been learning via tutorials and I must say the application stop motion studio is a lifesaver for people who haven't used it already. After going through multiple tutorials while there is a bit of a struggle but the progress is coming through. onwards and upwards from here 💪. P.S. there is still a minor noticeable error but hey this just shows me what I can improve from my mistakes 😁. #lego #stopmotion #fyp #legostopmotion #learningstopmotion

🚀Week 10 at VFXTalk! 🪐 Join us!: https://lnkd.in/gwywTJsh 🧠 Key Metrics 📈 398 total members! 331 Pros 41 Students 26 Educators 1 new Admin (Welcome Hugh!) 2 new Moderators (Thank You Tim and Genevieve!) *** 📣 Hope you’re all doing well after a jam-packed week. Just wanted to share some quick thoughts before work today. It’s pretty cool to see how our community boards give us a snapshot of the industry worldwide, way beyond what you usually find on other social sites. I hoped for this but didn’t expect it. With “Survive till ‘25” as our current theme, it’s no shocker that things are a still slow in the US and Canada. But the UK is starting to buzz again, and Australia and NZ are full of activity! Looks like things might really kick off once the IATSE stuff settles down. 🤞 Also, we’ve got a new server neighbor —LightLinks! Last week Lighting Artist Karen Kuzmiak (https://lnkd.in/gPVXRzjN) started up her own Discord with a similar mission to ours. So swing by and say hello! She’s sending out private invites. I chatted with her a bit and she’s super nice and all about helping the 3D community. Remember, high tides raise all boats, so let’s keep spreading the good vibes! There are plenty of conversations to be had. Lastly, I want to say that I really love seeing all the ways artists are benefiting from this project of ours. Whether you’re a student getting solid feedback on your project or a pro expanding your network and wanting to chat about this or that, it feels great to see our community mission and tone take off and become something special. And it’s all thanks to all of you! *** ⚡️Some of our popular threads are: ⚡️ 1. “Having ADD in the VFX industry”: In a surprise to no one, there’s a lot of artists with “neurodivergent” wiring in our industry :) 2. “Custom settings for Nuke nodes”: We’ve all got our own secret sauces, but are your tools battle tested by years in production? Ours are! Come check out what everyone is sharing. 3. “How often should an artist publish work for Feedback?”: This is a great conversation started by a student that turned into a great talk about proper note taking practices. I promise it’s more interesting than it sounds lol. 4. “What have you seen recently that you wish you got to work on?” It’s like fantasy football for VFX! We’ve all got those shows that made us want to work in this crazy business. Come and add to your favorite projects to the big list. 5. “Fallout Thread”: Just like everyone this week, we had a ton of members binging the show and talking about it! Some even worked on it! We’ve got a lot planned for the future and there are SO many more conversations being had too. Do you have something you’d like to talk about? Come over and post! Every voice matters and all are welcome no matter what your skill level is. *** See you all next week! Signing off… #VFXTalk #CommunityBuilding #VFXCommunity #VisualEffects #VFX #CG #IndustryInsights #JoinUs

Continuing on from my previous post regarding steps we, as #indiedev's can take to de-risk our projects and secure funding: 2. Create a Polished Vertical Slice or Demo Why It Works: A well-executed vertical slice shows precisely what the game will look and play like, providing confidence in its feasibility. How to Do It: Develop a small, fully functional portion of the game that showcases core mechanics, visuals, and polish. Ensure it represents the intended player experience and highlights what makes your game unique. Potential Issues: Resource Allocation: Creating a high-quality demo requires time and resources, which could slow down overall game progress. Additionally, the resources might not be available to build it in the first place. Technical Hurdles: A polished demo demands polish in areas like optimisation and graphics, which may require additional expertise. Managing Expectations: Players and investors may have unrealistic expectations for the full game if the demo is too polished or narrowly focused. #GameDemo #VerticalSlice #IndieGameShowcase #PlayableDemo #GamePreview

Technology-agnostic Stage Precision software opens a world of opportunity for Distortion Studios ✨ Distortion Studios, specialists in virtual production, recently opened the doors of its new Bristol-based studio, backed by an in-house team of immersive digital arts specialists. The multifaceted functionality of SP serves as a "Swiss army knife" for Distortion’s VP studio, capable of managing complex workflows from handling and visualising camera tracking data to controlling switches and calibrating lenses. Their studio also benefits from being SP technology-agnostic software. Nick Diacre, Technical Director at Distortion Studios shares “Sometimes, being tied into a product ecosystem can be expensive and annoying – Stage Precision takes that problem away," He continues “Because the software is platform-agnostic, there are no constraints on the technology we can use as there are many proprietary systems.” The ability of SP to interface seamlessly with all the leading VP and XR tools in the industry has empowered the team at Distortion with creative freedom and agility. You can read this use case in full here ➡️ https://lnkd.in/ej9XMWCP #StagePrecision #DistortionStudios #AugmentedReality #VirtualProduction #AR #UnrealEngine #Tracking #SP
