I AM GOING TO DIE. . . . I believe too many live as if they're never going to die. Dussehra and the Battle Within: A day before Yesterday was Dussehra, the festival that celebrates the triumph of good over evil. Across the country, effigies of Ravana, Meghnath, and Kumbhkarna were burned, symbolizing the victory of Lord Ram. But for me, Dussehra isn’t just about burning those figures year after year. It’s about burning the inner demons that reside within us—the ones that lead us astray without us even realizing it. While many gathered to celebrate Ram’s victory over Ravana, I stayed back. Not because I don’t believe in the festival’s significance, but because I believe it’s not really about Ravana. It never was. It’s a reminder to conquer our own negative traits, to vanquish the darker parts of ourselves that hold us back. Until I conquer my inner demons, I don’t feel ready to truly celebrate. Dussehra, for me, will be the day I succeed in that internal battle. Until then, I’ll keep trying.
