Since September 1st, Qingdao Port VGM declaration will usher in two new changes: 1. “Yungangtong” will be the unified entry platform. Export customers need to enter VGM on the platform of “Yun Gang Tong” (https://lnkd.in/g-PN4SGs), otherwise the containers will not be able to be delivered in the port! 2. The terminal will unify the weighing of containers and compare with VGM. When the container is delivered in port, the terminal will unify the arrangement of weighing. the GW exceeding the max load weight of the containers will not be allowed gate in. At the same time, the terminal will also compare the weighing with the VGM declared by the customer and notify the shipping company of the comparison result. If there is a big difference, we need to contact the corresponding terminal to correct the VGM as soon as possible, otherwise the containers can't load the vessel! #Qingdao #VGM #EMC #Gross weight #Philippines #Cambodia #Thailand #China #Freight forwarder #Evergreen Shipping

This is another example of Syndicate… which is fuelling cost of transportation from Chittagong port to different destination. The group of syndicate interestingly successful to impose the old and inefficient serial number and fixed rate of lighter vessel rates which is like curtailing. Companies are handicapped by this group and were forced to pay the fixed rate instead of a market driven rate. I would urge the Shipping Advisor to look in to this seriously and bring the competitive market in lighter vessel management. Foreign Investors’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry - FICCI

Cosco Shipping Container Lines has just inked a major deal with CSSC yard for a fleet of six advanced 13,600 TEU container vessels, developed by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding. This deal, like a similar one signed with Seaspan Corp just days ago, is breaking tradition by settling in Chinese RMB, a move that reflects the expanding global influence of the currency in the shipping industry. What does this mean? Switching to RMB not only mitigates exchange risks but boosts profitability and competitiveness for Chinese shipbuilders. Hudong-Zhonghua’s new vessels, with lengths of 336 meters and widths of 51 meters, promise a capacity of 14,096 TEU and sockets for 2,000 reefer containers, making them a powerhouse for global trade. Construction kicks off in November 2025, with deliveries expected by 2027. This marks another milestone in Hudong-Zhonghua’s remarkable journey, securing orders for 21 large container ships this year alone! Stay tuned as we chart the course for the next generation of global shipping. #CoscoShipping #HudongZhonghua #Shipbuilding #MaritimeInnovation #RMB

Port congestion and tight capacity easing Singapore is a crucial link in supply chains, the port addressed the congestion by reopening Keppel Terminal reducing waiting time for berthing to 2 days instead of 5 days. This improvement would see fewer vessels omitting the port, leading to more sailings from Singapore. Supply chains have come to terms with the Cape of Good Hope diversions and other issues such as the Panama Canal restriction. The situation is easing, vessels and cargoes should now be flowing more freely. However, time is needed to adjust supply chains, which has been aided by increased vessel numbers and capacity. The global terminals are clearing bottlenecks and ship operators are dampening spot rate due to expanding capacity on transpacific and Asia-Europe services, reported Container News. #shippingindustry
