Absolutely love the chocolate factory analogy! This reminds me of Gartner’s insights on composable business: just as in a chocolate factory, where some enthusiasts might dive deep into crafting unique flavors, others may prefer the simplicity of tried-and-true recipes. Gartner highlights the significance of delineating roles—like creators (developers or business users who create reusable combinations of components), curators (responsible for governance, quality control, and ensuring the different combinations align with the customers' expectations), and consumers (who, just as Wessel said, don't want to be either creators or curators). It's about finding that sweet spot where creativity meets convenience so that everyone can enjoy their favorite treat, whether they want to craft it from scratch or enjoy it straight from the wrapper.

However, we can start to organize our spices by first throwing out all the expired ones. Do you have spices that you’ve never used or that have been hanging out for a few years? 🤨 We gave them the keys to the chocolate factory… … but they didn't want to be chocolatiers. With Storyblok components, the possibilities are endless. There are flexible and fixed components available. 👉 Flexible components offer lots of layout options but can be confusing to use. On the other hand, fixed components are easy to understand but may require developers for new features. So we thought giving editors the ability to change everything would be great. You know, like having a chocolate factory where you can make any kind of chocolate you want. We built website components where you could adjust the width of images and text, move things around however you pleased. But then we realized something: Not everyone wants to be a chocolatier. Most editors just want to tweak the text and be done with it. They didn't need all the fancy options. So, we dialed it back. Instead of giving them the entire factory, we now offer a menu of delicious editing options. If you had the chance to create any chocolate you want, which one would it be?
