Today is World Diabetes Day.... Each year, World Diabetes Day focuses on a specific theme to address different aspects of diabetes management. Today is highlighting the importance of accessible healthcare and information to manage diabetes effectively. Being Type II, it makes me wonder if companies understand how serious a disease it is!!! I'm 'lucky' in the fact I don't have to monitor my blood sugar levels on a regular basis, but some do! Diabetes can impact daily work through fluctuating energy levels, requiring scheduled breaks for blood sugar checks and insulin, and managing stress which can raise blood sugar levels. Physical symptoms like fatigue, dizziness, or blurred vision may interfere with focus, and regular snacks or medications may need timing adjustments. People with diabetes may also have increased susceptibility to infections and need to prioritise foot and eye care, especially in physically demanding roles. Just by having some supportive working practices like flexible break times, access to private spaces for insulin administration, and a supportive work culture help manage these challenges effectively. Just an understanding of what a person needs can help to improve their work life dramatically! #diabetes #typeI #typeII #diabetesawareness

Hypertension, or high blood pressure, is a common condition where the force of blood against the artery walls is consistently too high, potentially leading to serious health issues like heart disease, stroke, and kidney problems. Blood pressure is measured in millimeters of mercury (mmHg) and includes two readings: systolic (the pressure when the heart beats) and diastolic (the pressure when the heart is at rest). A normal reading is around 120/80 mmHg, and hypertension is diagnosed when it regularly exceeds 140/90 mmHg. Many people with hypertension may not experience symptoms, earning it the nickname “silent killer.” Lifestyle changes, such as reducing salt intake, exercising regularly, maintaining a healthy weight, limiting alcohol, and managing stress, can help control blood pressure. Medication may also be necessary. Regular monitoring and early detection are vital to preventing complications and maintaining overall cardiovascular health. #fitness #health #wellness #healthy #fitnessmotivation#healthylifestyle #healthyfood #fitnessaddict #healthyeating#healthyliving #fitnessjourney #mentalhealth #healthychoices#healthylife #fitnesslife #fitnesslifestyle #fitnessgoals#healthandwellness #healthcare #mentalhealthawareness#healthyskin #healthyrecipes #healthiswealth #fitnessfreak#instafitness #instahealth #healthcoach #wellnessjourney#stayhealthy #hypertension
