In just a few short weeks I’ve raised $2,300 for LLS with a goal to raise $10,000 before Light The Night on October 26th. While this might seem like just a small piece of the $1.7 billion LLS has invested in cancer research, my goal has the potential to provide an impact in multiple ways. What we raise in the next few days can make a year-long impact for blood cancer patients struggling with the cost of cancer. I’d ask that you consider making a donation to support my efforts to raise funds for LLS a donation. Here is how your donation has the potential to make a difference: $500 helps fund one week of LLS-sponsored group support for families dealing with blood cancer treatment. $1000 provides financial assistance for non-medical expenses, including rent or mortgage, utilities, dependent care, food, and car repairs, related to treatment to a pediatric or young adult patient through our Urgent Need Program. $2,500 helps fund the cost of nurses providing patients and parents/caregivers with clinical trial search navigation and support through The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Clinical Trial Support Center. If you are available, please join me on October 26th for the Light the Night Walk! I would greatly appreciate your support as we lead into the final few weeks before we Light The Night on Saturday, October 26th! You can make a tax-deductible contribution through my link, https://lnkd.in/gVejDsWb.

At 17 I was diagnosed with lymphoma just before Christmas. At 19 I relapsed and I was given a 5-15% chance of survival. Today, I'm not just a survivor but a husband, a brother, a son, and a father to three incredible boys. This miraculous turn of events was made possible by a clinical trial funded by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). My story has become more common as we've donated to cures over the past 25+ years. Many of you are already part of that story, the story of hope for a child fighting for their life - like I was. I've been fortunate to participate in the Light the Night walk since its inception in Boston 23 years ago. I'm excited to bring my children back this year for the most inspirational night of the year. I'd love your support as many of you have donated for 20+ years. Why? Every 3 Minutes: Someone is diagnosed with blood cancer. Leading Cause: Leukemia is the leading cause of cancer in children. Survival Rates: Over 33% of patients don't survive 5 years post-diagnosis. How You Can Make a Monumental Impact Donate: Your contribution, no matter the size, amplifies our collective impact. [👉 DONATE BELOW 👈] Spread Love: If a financial contribution isn't feasible, a heartfelt embrace with your loved ones is another way to spread thankfulness for healthy friends and family. Your Donation Makes A Tangible Impact $50: Supports educational booklets for healthcare providers and patients. $100: Trains volunteers for the Patti Robinson Kaufmann First Connection Program, offering vital peer support nationwide. $500: Provides non-medical financial assistance to pediatric, young adult, or clinical trial patients. Your kindness matters. Every act of compassion, every donation, every word of encouragement adds up. Together, we're not just making a difference; we're making history. We're offering hope and pushing the boundaries of medical progress. With deep appreciation, I invite you to join me in this fight. Together, let's redefine the trajectory of blood cancer. https://lnkd.in/eBS5S-45 #LymphomaSurvivor, #LeukemiaAndLymphomaSociety, #FightBloodCancer, #CancerAwareness, #SurvivorStory, #LightTheNight, #CancerResearch, #HopeAgainstCancer, #CancerSupport, #BloodCancerAwareness, #DonateToCure, #CancerWarrior, #ClinicalTrials, #CancerSurvival, #PediatricCancer, #CancerFighter, #HealthcareHeroes, #SupportCancerPatients, #CancerCommunity, #EveryDonationCounts, #CancerAdvocacy, #JoinTheFight, #MedicalProgress, #CancerCare, #CureCancer, #StandUpToCancer, #CancerResearchFund, #ChildhoodCancerAwareness, #HopeAndHealing, #BeatCancer

The world isn’t always fair, but that doesn’t mean we can’t try to level the playing field for the underdogs. Children fighting cancer represent some of the brave little warriors amongst us, tackling a battle no child should have to face. ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation is one organization that strives to make this fight just a little bit easier. Anthem is a lead sponsor again this year for the ASK 5K and Fun Walk that will be on May 18th at the Diamond in Richmond. We are now only a few weeks away from the event. Will you join us in supporting this wonderful cause? Every contribution you make to the ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation brings hope, better treatments, and improved quality of life to children on this challenging journey. From financial support to emotional care for the kids and their families, your donation has a big impact. Childhood is meant for dreams, games, and innocent laughter, not chemotherapy and hospital visits. Remember, the size of the contribution doesn’t matter, it’s the spirit that counts. Even the smallest contribution can culminate to create a significant impact. Please donate to the ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation, because you have the ability to transform lives, to gift smiles, to spark hope. Because together, we can change their world. #AnthemVA; #AnthemCares

As some of you may know, I am a volunteer at Here to Serve - the only national nonprofit that provides critical services and support to families throughout the pediatric cancer journey. We made some great progress at the end of 2023 and hired a new Care Coordinator who is providing more 1:1 support to these families. But there’s still a long way to go to close the care gap: ✴ Over 15,000 children/year are diagnosed with cancer ✴ The average cancer journey is ~18 months (at least 65% of that time is spent at home with no support) ✴ Only .001% of funding goes directly toward supporting families vs. hospitals and research ✴ It takes ~$1.3 Billion and 10-15 years to produce a successful cancer treatment ✴ It only takes $6,000 annually to support one family’s cancer journey at Here to Serve I’m hoping you’ll join me in supporting this incredible cause and make a difference 1 month at a time throughout the year with a recurring donation. Here's the breakdown to contextualize ongoing support: ✳ $25/month (~1 Starbucks/week = set-up of one new family’s personalized care community) ✳ $50/month (~1 Uber Eats order) = more than 1 month of a family’s care ✳ $75/month = almost 2 months of a family’s care ✳ $100/month = almost 2.5 months of care for a family ✳ $125/month (less than a nice dinner out) = 3 months of a family’s care ✳ $200/month = almost 5 months of a family’s care ✳ $250/month = 6 months of a family’s care ✳ $500/month = a full year of a family’s care To make a recurring or a one-time donation, head to: https://lnkd.in/gNui8Gby
