The hardest part? Realising that if it weren’t for my partner and kids, I’d spend Christmas like any other day—on my own. The lack of family? It hits deeper during the holidays. There’s this empty space that doesn’t seem to fill, no matter how hard you try. It’s like the world’s celebrating something I never had. And, honestly, it’s hard to remember the last Christmas I didn’t cry. Because, no matter how many people surround you, there’s always that moment where you see their family—their joy, their togetherness—and it makes you wonder why you couldn’t have had that.
