🚨 OPPORTUNITY! #postdoc position to support the European Partnership “Accelerating farming systems transition: #groecology #LivingLabs and Research Infrastructures” The mission of the Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) as a nationally and internationally active #research institute is to deliver solutions for an ecologically, economically and socially sustainable #agriculture – together with society. The particular focus of the #position for an advanced postdoc within the AGROECOLOGY-Team at ZALF is on developing a conceptual framework to assess and monitor #agroecology transition processes. This includes developing appropriate indicators and quality criteria for monitoring the agroecological #transition, its performance and social-ecological impacts. For the #partnership, it is important to consider the entire value chain and all associated actor groups in understanding how they shape the transition. 📚 Facilitating PhD Research with Global Impact – Open to Collaboration I’m delighted to share my role in the processing of PhD dissertation proposal of Md. Abu Bakar from the Department of Entomology at Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU). His research, titled: "Seasonal Incidence and Damage Severity of Soybean Insect Pests and Their Management in Major Soybean Growing Areas of Coastal Ecosystem," focuses on addressing critical challenges in sustainable agriculture by exploring effective pest management strategies for soybean crops in coastal ecosystems. As part of the process, I facilitated the nomination of six highly qualified dissertation examiners, including two foreign experts, ensuring compliance with academic standards and promoting international collaboration. This step underscores the significance of incorporating diverse perspectives to enhance research quality. Panel Highlights: The examiners include renowned academics from Bangladesh and India, with expertise in entomology, crop science, and plant protection. This experience reaffirms my commitment to advancing impactful research and supporting global academic excellence. This research paper focuses on understanding the effects of stage-sensitive variable rates of nitrogen management in rapeseed (Brassica rapa L.) within a temperate ecological context. The study aimed to investigate how manipulating the timing and amount of nitrogen application during different growth stages of rapeseed plants affects their overall performance like yield and nitrogen use efficiency.
