That's where you went wrong. Till now you were shown a narrow view. People focus a lot on one metric, but forget one thing: ↳ each Metric serves a unique purpose Every Metric on LinkedIn, whether it is: → Likes → Reposts → Followers → Comments → Impressions leads to different outcomes... Here’s how: 1. Likes 👍 A ‘like’ tells us that people appreciated the post or found it useful. Likes increase reach because LinkedIn promotes content that receives positive engagement. But likes alone don’t necessarily spark conversations or connections. 📍Use it to gauge: Broader reach and surface-level engagement. 2. Impressions 📈 Impressions represent how many times your post was seen, but they’re only a surface-level metric. High impressions indicate that LinkedIn is showing your content to people, but it doesn’t necessarily mean it resonated. I conducted a 52-day LinkedIn experiment so you don't have to... The results are clear. —> No activity: zero growth. —> Just commenting: followers increased. —> Posting w/ minimal comments: moderate engagement and follower increase. —> Commenting and posting: highest engagement and follower increase. Here's what I learned 👇 1) Silence doesn't build connections. When I wasn't posting or commenting, my network didn't grow. It's like being at a party but not talking to anyone. 2) Commenting is the most important thing you can do. If you're not into posting, just comment on your target audience's posts. This alone can boost your engagement and following. 3) Posting without engaging isn’t enough. Spend 90% of your time engaging with others. That's right, 90%. It's about building a community, not a monologue. 4) Engaging is key. Engaging with others is the most crucial step. Comment, like, share. It's not just about posting your own content. That’s selfish. 5) Consistency is the secret sauce. Keep at it. Engagement is a marathon, not a sprint. Stay authentic, consistent, and bold, and you'll see growth. 6) Always adapt and play the game See what’s working for others targeting the same audience.
