As a former Infosys employee, I hold immense respect for Mr. Narayana Murthy's contributions to the IT sector and his role in putting Indian talent on the global map. However, I feel compelled to share a differing perspective on his recent statements advocating for a 70-hour workweek and dismissing the importance of work-life balance. While I deeply understand and appreciate the need for strong work ethics and productivity, it is equally important to recognize that innovation, creativity, and sustainable growth thrive in environments that balance ambition with well-being. Expecting young professionals to work 70 hours a week not only risks burnout but also disregards the value of personal growth, family time, and mental health - key factors that contribute to a truly fulfilling life. During my tenure at Infosys, I experienced a supportive work culture and had the opportunity to learn and grow professionally. However, like many others, I did feel that compensation was not always reflective of the effort and value employees brought to the organization. While I managed to find a balance, I know some colleagues faced challenges in navigating the pressures of work and life, highlighting the need for more empathetic leadership. As leaders, inspiring productivity should go hand-in-hand with fostering a culture that values employees holistically - not just for the hours they clock in, but for the diverse perspectives, creativity, and passion they bring to the table. Let’s not lose sight of what makes work meaningful: people who feel valued, empowered, and supported. India’s development doesn’t need just longer hours - it needs smarter work, innovative thinking, and policies that retain and nurture talent for the long run. Let's focus on creating workplaces where individuals can excel both professionally and personally. #WorkLifeBalance #NarayanMurthy #India

The recent backlash against Mr. Bhavish Aggarwal and Mr. Narayana Murthy’s advocacy for a six-day workweek, juxtaposed with new openings in Infosys offering salaries as low as ₹3 lakhs per annum, highlights an important shift in the modern workforce: the rising prioritization of mental health and work-life balance. This trend signals a broader societal transformation—from merely living for money to striving for a more meaningful quality of life. What lessons can we draw from this? Organizations must recognize that hiring people for their values and fostering an environment that creates real value—beyond just monetary gains—is far more impactful than treating work as a transactional exchange. Purpose-driven work not only enhances productivity but also enriches lives. Let’s strive to align professional aspirations with a higher purpose. After all, when we contribute to something greater, life becomes truly beautiful. #WorkplaceWellbeing #leadership #PurposeDrivenWork

Narayan Murthy: Work Hard, But Be Productive Infosys co-founder NR Narayana Murthy has sparked debate once again with his comments on work culture. While he acknowledges the need for a work-life balance, Murthy emphasizes the importance of productivity and hard work. Recently, I listened to Narayana Murthy, co-founder of Infosys, express his disappointment over India's shift to a five-day workweek, stating he doesn't believe in work-life balance. This perspective reflects a broader cultural issue in India, where long hours are often equated with dedication. However, this mindset may hinder productivity, as evidenced by Infosys's modest growth of only 3.3% year-over-year and a guided revenue growth of 3.75% for FY25, while peers are outpacing this rate. As we embrace modern work practices, it's crucial to recognize that a balanced approach fosters employee well-being and enhances overall productivity. Let's champion a culture that values results over hours spent in the office! Imagine you are honestly and genuinely trying to create a great workplace. You may be generating more employment than the most other businesses in the country. Imagine one of your managers is abusive with their team and the recording is put on social media. As an ethical company you will like to investigate and take corrective action. Even before that there will there be an avalanche of social media backlash against your brand. What will you do? #wellness; #employeewellness; #toxicmanager

Hi all!! I'm writing this up to bring into your notice how Accenture Solutions Pvt. Ltd. treats there employees at the time of exit. I submitted my resignation on 31st Aug,24 and requested for the early release of 22nd sept,24. However my management did not take any action on it for almost a week. Then when I started taking follow ups they come up and tell me that it is mandatory to serve the notice period and that there is no buy out policy or early release consideration. I asked them to give this to me in written on the email however they did not do it, that means I can buy-out my notice period days and legally they cannot stop me. What I feel here is, they are willfully stopping me to grow, in my 2+ years of experience with Accenture, I've only got 1 increment and I do not see any upcoming opportunity for me to grow here. They pick people for the next role on there biasness and do not give other candidates a fair chance. I am not able to understand why am I being forced to serve the notice period when there are people to whom they have given early release and even they have given waiver for the notice period days. It is pure mental harassment for me and I dont see any support from the organization on this front. Here are the names of my upper management. Manager: Ankita Gupta Email: ankita.n.gupta@accenture.com Senior Manager: Joseph John Email: joseph.b.john@accenture.com Delivery Manager: Amit Rana Email: amit.b.rana@accenture.com Associate Director: Krishna Kanth Email: Krishna.kanth@accenture.com Tagging team Accenture in India Accenture Accenture Federal Services Accenture Security Julie Sweet
