Honestly, I have to say that I'm incredibly honored and privileged to have teamed up with such an amazing and talented group of people. We worked tirelessly over 19 days of hacking during Flatiron's Hackonomics Hackathon, and winning top marks (Best Overall, Best Technical, and Best UX/UI Design) for our MVP called Money Magnet, a financial application that used AI to deliver predictions and insights based on your transactions. I got to get my hands dirty and really delve into OpenAI's API to build out this functionality, connecting it with Plaid's API for transactions. I had so much fun getting to learn more about how to use JSON Mode for the AI, not realizing that even though you ask it to return a JSON it still returns it as a string in JSON format. Then having to convert that string on the backend in Python was the final piece to make the data clean and accessible for frontend use. Although there have been some questions swirling around regarding ChatGPT's security issues when it comes to feeding the AI certain sensitive data, this MVP is just for demo purposes, and the data we feed it is dummy data established by Plaid. However, it is something that I've been thinking about how to address. If anyone has any pointers, I'd be happy to hear them! Thanks to my outstanding team!
