Finishing off the week with a simple question: What great teams know and do by Mark Miller. My key points - as I'm moving forward, and sense there are people going upward in their career. 1. Teams that #work well know that they have to fit in. One example is to follow closely or strong insights about our organization. 2. Teams that do well treat one another as a team. It sounded easy but not really that easy. We could start by reaching out, helping out, and gain some ideas about team members. 3. Teams that do remarkable work must at least have one passionate or two enthusiastic individuals. Otherwise, it is going to be weak spirit all day long. 4. Teams that do well enjoy working together in every project. In our line, it means every one in the research team (from research assistant, research associate, research fellow, and Principle investigators). 5. Happy team eats well - (This is my own addition to the book review) I'm bringing the experience to the new team, insya Allah. Sabbatical is over :)

Introducing the Career Focus program for new graduates!

Being made redundant from a job I loved so deeply feels like losing a piece of myself. For years, I invested everything into my role —my energy, my passion, my dedication. It wasn’t just a job to me; it was my purpose, my second family, and a place where I poured my heart into every task. Balancing that alongside my international dance career, I learned the art of juggling the two worlds—each demanding my time, focus, and effort in different ways. Yet, every moment was worth it because both brought me joy and fulfillment in their own unique ways. I want to take a moment to thank the company I worked for—thank you for challenging me, for pushing me beyond my limits, and for providing me with the opportunity to discover strengths and skills in myself I never knew existed. You’ve shaped me in ways I’ll forever be grateful for, and I will carry those lessons with me into the future. Now, even though I’m grieving the loss of something I held so close, I feel a surge of energy behind me, pushing me forward. I know that everything happens for a reason, and while I may not know exactly where this energy is taking me yet, I am excited about the new opportunities ahead. The unknown is no longer something to fear—it’s something to embrace. I’m taking this summer to reflect, to honor what this chapter meant, and to trust that the next step will reveal itself in time. If you’ve ever been in a similar situation, know that you’re not alone. There’s strength in uncertainty, and I believe that even when we don’t see the way forward, it’s already being laid out for us. 🌱

𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗸𝗶𝗰𝗸-𝗼𝗳𝗳 🚀 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝘞𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘣𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘧𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭-𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘮. That’s why we are always looking for ways to support the personal development of our employees. Recently, we added a bookshelf to our office, available for everyone to borrow and learn something new. This initiative aims to foster a 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗲𝘁 and encourage continuous growth, both personally and professionally. One of the most recent additions to our shelf is "𝗔 𝗙𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗱𝗲 é 𝗟𝘂𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮" ("Happiness is Profitable") by Ricardo Costa, CEO of Bernardo da Costa. The book’s message reflects a vision we also strive to bring into our daily lives: 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀. For those unfamiliar, Bernardo da Costa was the first company in Portugal to create a 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, dedicated solely to the well-being of its employees. We find that amazing! We had the pleasure of watching a talk by Ricardo recently at Investor Talks, and we left inspired by his journey and leadership vision. What stuck with us? That it’s possible to be productive, successful, and still put people first. 💡 We embrace this way of thinking and are always looking for new ways to make our work environment not just a place of results but a place of happiness. 🙌 What about you?
