Whenever you hear "efficiency" it should make you think "If it makes it easier for me, it also makes it easier for fraudsters!" When creating an account on a website or app, beware of signing up with one of your social media accounts. It’s recommended to create a new separate login. This way, cybercriminals who gain access to one can’t lock you out of both. When in doubt, set up new accounts with your email address and a new username with a long password and multi-factor authentication. #CTRCyber https://lnkd.in/dJgM2m6g

I don't understand why just to verify yourself in the LinkedIn you need to give the access of your digilocker and details of Aadhaar!! Just to get more impressions, more profile views & a verification badge, i don't think one should compromise with their privacy. What do you think LinkedIn community? Is it safe to verify your LinkedIn account with Digilocker? Please comment your opinions & suggestions!

Have you secured your Facebook personal profile against being hacked? A friend contacted me after experiencing a personal Facebook hack, which also put her Facebook business page at risk as her personal profile is connected to her business page. One of the best ways to secure your account is by enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). Here's why this matters for you and your Funeral home/business: ✅ Prevent Unauthorised Access: 2FA adds an extra layer of protection, making it significantly harder for unauthorised users to access your account. ✅ Safeguard Your Business’ Online Reputation: Your personal profile is linked to your business page. Securing your profile protects your business's online presence. ✅ Peace of Mind: Knowing your account is secure allows you to focus on providing compassionate service to your clients. Here are the steps via your Facebook app on your phone: 📲 Open the Facebook App and make sure you're logged into your personal account, not your business profile. 📲 Tap the Menu tab (shows your personal profile image) at the bottom of your phone screen. 📲 Scroll down and tap "Settings & Privacy" then tap "Settings". 📲 Select "Accounts Center" (this is where Facebook now manages security settings). 📲 Tap "Password and Security". 📲 Tap the "Two-Factor Authentication" section and select the account you want to secure. 📲 Follow the on-screen instructions to choose your preferred security method: Text Message (SMS): Receive a code via SMS, after entering the code, Facebook will confirm that Two-Factor Authentication is enabled for your account. Once you've turned on two-factor authentication, you can get 10 recovery login codes to use when you're unable to use your phone. If you haven’t set this up yet, I highly recommend doing so today. #FacebookTip #FuneralDirectors #FuneralIndustry #FITsocialmedia

This week has been a flurry of compromised Facebook accounts, with personal accounts deactivated and business page access lost. It seems that the hackers are getting in with a friend request. - something new and fun! So please.... Make sure your Facebook and IG have 2FA. Make sure you have another person on your Business Manager account as backup. Use Google Authenticator for you 2FA Have a super crazy password like 7657[']sdno809giwuj089eouyt-4rugp9fj;sodk-qf[wetu0y (essentially, mash your hands on the keyboard) Be proactive. Not Reactive.

My LinkedIn got HACKED 😵 I didn’t notice because I didn’t check one of emails thoroughly.. but it did tell me at what time and what location. 5am somewhere in Beverly Hills 😅 Whoever hacked my account wiped most of my info I had thoughtfully & carefully added to my page. LESSON ⬇️ 1. Have 2 factor authentication turned ON ✅ (I have this on for all apps but didn’t have it for LinkedIn 🥲) 2. SAVE 📎 all of your info you have typed/added onto your LinkedIn account onto your computer if it happens in the future. 3. Consider a backup account The hacker got in but never changed the email? Maybe it was difficult on their end but LinkedIn sent me an email where I was able to verify my identity with my drivers license, which then prompted them to send me a new password link so I could change it and regain access to my account. Shout out to LinkedIn because I was able to retrieve my account in less than 24 hours! #Lessonlearned
