If we can raise $14,000, we will have enough to send every autistic child that wants to go to camp, to camp. This provides social interaction and growth opportunities for the children while allowing caregivers to work or have respite. This is a vital service. As many of you know, Dave & I are passionate board members for Kids In The Middle (KITM) which supports families going through divorce. Today kicks off our 24 hour annual Giving 4 Kids campaign and we are asking for your support. KITM serves 2,000+ children and families through their counseling services. We are seeking your financial donation to provide much needed mental health services for children experiencing the trauma of divorce and separation. All donations are DOUBLED for the next 24 hours thanks to our matching donors! That means if you donate $5 it turns into $10, $100 turns into $200- you get it. No gift is too small and donations are tax-deductible. In Missouri, tax credits are 50% monetary back in the form of a MO state tax credit. October was crazy busy for everyone, and as we start into November, well its just crazy lol. I've served on the board of Georgians for a Healthy Future for several years now. Too often, Georgia has policies in place that don't allow people to thrive, particularly if you are not wealthy. 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐆𝐇𝐅'𝐬 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐚 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲? https://lnkd.in/e7rnN9PY With the gifts from last year’s Giving Day, GHF was able to: ✅ Support the passage of HB 404, the “Safe at Home Act.” This bill establishes basic protections for Georgia renters like ensuring rental units are fit for human habitation and limiting security deposits to no more than two months’ rent. ✅ Protect Georgia’s Low-Income Housing Tax Credit from being cut in half by state legislators. ✅ Build support for increasing healthy, accessible housing for people with disabilities by sharing and presenting our Realizing the Promise of Olmstead report. We are counting on 𝟖𝟎 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 to make a gift in support of our Housing is Health initiative. Your gifts will kickstart the next phase of our work, which will include: ⭕ Build support among state leaders to fully fund the Georgia Housing Voucher Program! This program ensures that Georgians with mental illness have stable, affordable housing that helps keep them healthy and out of crisis. ⭕ Set up a working group that brings together people with disabilities, caregivers, housing experts, advocates, and Georgia’s state agencies overseeing health and housing to examine and promote ways to improve and expand housing for people with disabilities. ⭕ Bring together housing and health advocates to identify opportunities for collaborations that will improve health and housing at the same time!
