Spoiler alert! From next week, you'll be able to easily detect features in your drone mapping imagery, convert them to polygons, measure their areas, and even assess their changes over time! We've been working hard to integrate the Segment Anything Model (SAM) into GeoNadir and we think you'll love the new functions. Here's a sneak peek... #SAM #segmentation #geospatial #dronemapping #Earthobservation Thanks to Sarah Hamylton from the University of Wollongong for sharing the incredible Low Isles data on GeoNadir.

Last week marked the 10th Annual Commercial UAV Expo in Las Vegas. What a great week of visiting clients, reconnecting with friends, and making new connections in the industry. Reflecting on the week, a few observations come to mind. 📉 This is totally subjective, but while exhibitor presence felt consistent with past events, the overall attendance by non-exhibitors seemed down compared to previous years. Again, I have no true reference point from my position as an attendee, but the environment did feel different. Could this be because of the consolidation of start-ups and big corporations we have seen on-going in the space? Or are companies and prospective clients feeling the realities of investor scrutiny? Only time will tell. 👂 The companies that did not attend or exhibit should speak volumes. This observation isn't intended to point fingers, but shows how the industry is evolving, maturing, and fragmenting. It remains to be seen what this means for the broader industry and its impacts as we continue to pursue industry and regulatory change. ⌛ The Ukrainian booth was a great addition to the show. The number of small companies with battle proven technology shows just how far behind we are as an industry in advancing and iterating. It is no surprise that Max Prasolov at Bavona won a prize for their innovative technology. ⚙ Lastly, the presenters from Ukraine trying to enter the U.S. market show a gap in the ability to commercially reproduce the EM environment that they face day-to-day. There is a significant need to be able to replicate realistic (not simulated) GPS denied environments (and other EM scenarios). For those in attendance, what were your thoughts on the event? Any observations you had? Let us know below ⬇ ⬇
