Hey LinkedIn Family! ❤️ (Not an important post, just for informing) 😫 I wanted to share something personal today. Lately, I’ve been struggling to stay consistent with my learning journey. With exams around the corner and unexpected re-exams being scheduled (even though we’ve already taken them), it’s been tough to keep up with personal goals and commitments. Some days, I’m able to code and learn, but on others, I’m just trying to stay afloat amidst all the chaos. It’s frustrating, especially when college inefficiencies add to the stress. But here’s what keeps me going: 1️⃣ Reminding myself that setbacks are part of the process. 2️⃣ Focusing on what I can control, instead of dwelling on what I can’t. 3️⃣ Trusting that consistency is about showing up when it truly matters. My exams will start from 27th January 2025 after that, I’ll take the time to reflect and share everything I’ve achieved so far. "We do not learn from experience... we learn from reflecting on experience." - John Dewey You know that feeling when you were the star student in school, but then college hits and suddenly you're... not? 🌟➡️😕 Yeah, that was me. I was that kid who always had the answers, the one with the perfect grades. Then university came along, and it felt like someone had switched off my brain. 🎓🔌 My grades dropped, my confidence vanished, and I kept asking myself, "What's wrong with me?" 📉😔 But here's the thing - I never actually sat down to figure it out. Not until my mom started asking, "Hey, what's going on?" She'd follow up with, "You don't have to tell me, but be honest with yourself." So, I finally did it. I sat down and really thought about what I used to do differently. And you know what? It was eye-opening. 👀💡 Here's what I realized: Back in school, I: 1.Used the Feynman Technique (basically, teaching others to understand better myself) 🧑🏫 2.Always tried to connect what I learned to real life 🔗🌍 Now in university, I'm: 1.Drowning in too many study resources 📚🌊 2.Skipping out on study group discussions 👥 It hit me - I'd stopped reflecting on my learning. I wasn't doing what Dewey talked about in that quote up there. So, here's my plan: I'm going back to basics. I'm going to use those old techniques again, but with a twist - learning from my past mistakes too. 🔄✨ I'll give this a shot for a month and see what happens. The nostalgia! reminiscing about my student days, specifically during board exams and B.Tech examinations. Those were indeed stressful times! Peeking at others' notes was a common phenomenon, wasn't it? It was as if we thought, "Ah, they must know something I don't!" And then came the anxiety of feeling like we'd missed some crucial topic or concept. Those moments of panic often led to: 1. Frantic last-minute studying 2. Cramming (which, let's be honest, wasn't always effective) 3. Comparing ourselves to others (never a good idea!) But despite the chaos, you made it through! And looking back, you likely realized that: 1. Everyone was in the same boat, struggling to some extent. 2. You learned valuable lessons about time management, prioritization, and coping with pressure. 3. Those experiences shaped your resilience and adaptability.
