Really interesting blog! Completely agree that we should be using the rich insights from deliberation beyond the specific outcomes. That's why in our report about our deliberative process on protest we set out not just the outcome (principles about the role of protest in society) and how people got there, but a 'mental model' for how people think about protest. It seems that the COVID-19 Response Inquiry is being quite considered and thoughtful in its approach and providing updates as its engagement progresses. This update on a roundtable on communicating the science and complex messages is pretty handy and I expect resonates with many of us who worked across government and with the community during this time. I particularly like some of the areas they suggest we can improve including "Developing structures that enable a two-way conversation with the public." https://lnkd.in/gGZyBdXs

Thank you to Forbes Technology Council for publishing my piece on the importance of logical reasoning in AI. Retrieval Augmented Reasoning (RAR) leverages symbolic AI's transparency and LLMs' versatility to provide not just answers, but clear, causal rationales. This is crucial for trust, especially in regulated industries. #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #SymbolicAI #GenerativeAI #TrustworthyAI #Explainability #AIInnovation #RainbirdAI #BusinessTransformation
The demand for systems that not only deliver answers but also explain their reasoning transparently and reliably is becoming critical. Read more: https://hubs.li/Q02y6HBx0 Post written by James Duez, Forbes Councils Member.
