You may be wondering: Being part of the A-CBT community seems amazing! But how do you become an A-CBT certified clinician? There are three essential requirements to be eligible to start the process: Have Your Terminal Degree & License: To be eligible, you’ll need your terminal degree and license for independent practice. In fields where licensing isn’t required, don’t worry—alternative credentials may be reviewed by the Academy. Complete 40 Hours of CBT Training: In order to apply, for at least forty hours of CBT-focused education. Whether you’ve done lectures, online courses, or supervised clinical training, the key is having a solid foundation in cognitive interventions. At Least One Year of Clinical Experience: One year of clinical experience working with CBT clients is essential!
