The times, they are a-changing! Good work UK Architects Declare Architects Climate Action Network (ACAN) 20th Century Society and Don't Waste Buildings. we need #ClimateActionNow

‼️ Architects Climate Action Network (ACAN), UK Architects Declare and Don't Waste Buildings join the bid to save Hodder’s Centenary Building. Our organisations have rallied in support of The Twentieth Century Society in questioning the proposed demolition of Hodder Associates’ Stirling Prize-winning Centenary Building in Salford. Architects Declare and ACAN fully support the Twentieth Century Society’s bid to preserve Hodder Associates’ Centenary Building - the pioneering structure that was the first to win the prestigious RIBA Stirling Prize. If we are to reduce carbon emissions to the extent necessary to avoid catastrophic climate breakdown and biodiversity loss, upgrading existing buildings, as opposed to building new, must now become the default.
