EMEA Product Kickoff H1 2024 by Google is officially in progress 🎉 The most wanted event in the world of digital marketing is behind us, and there were a few surprises but one major trend: AI. Among the innovations discussed was the implementation of Gemini AI into Google Ads, the automatic creation of graphic assets or an even greater emphasis on automating data-related processes. Enjoyable couple days in Dublin at Google Marketing Live. Lots covered but here are a couple of my key takeaways: 1: It’s not too late to be early with AI. AI powered advertising as you would suspect was the key topic throughout. The message to advertisers was to really lean in, shift mindsets and start testing with the various features as it’s not too late to gain an advantage. Some significant enhancement’s to how Generative AI can help produce quality creative assets rapidly and at scale for Performance max campaigns is certainly an immediate opportunity to exploit. 2. Power Pair AI-powered Search and Performance Max are the Ads Power Pairing according to Google and PMAX certainly featured heavily throughout the 2 days. Latest data shows a 27% increase in conversions when utilised, interestingly up significantly from their initial case studies. However in the various round tables discussions with other advertisers success with PMAX was very mixed. But with all new capability, ensuring the set up is right and undertaking a period of optimisation is critical to see the benefits and with those kind of returns it warrants experimenting with. 3. Enhanced measurement and analytics: Quite a few new tools and features were launched to better track performance and provide valuable insights. I thought the Generated Reports feature was cool. Just type "what is the best performing campaign to 18-34’s” and the AI-based system will generate the report for you in seconds. The time saved will be huge. 4. Guinness definitely tastes better in Ireland. #GoogleMarketingLive #DigitalMarketing #AIAdvertising
