Accend ’s Post

What a week! 🚀 The Accend team just wrapped up an intense 4-day sprint packed with insights and connections:   - A deep dive into biochar with an inspiring site visit to our newly-registered Brodie Biomass facility in Surrey, South of London   - A strategy-focused seminar with the entire team, shaping our vision for the future (topped off with a vineyard dinner, where the grapes may soon thrive on biochar from our new facility 🍇).   - Our Head of Policy Alix Bolle moderating a Carbon Unbound fireside on the synergies between biochar and Enhanced Rock Weathering with great insights from Venna Lepel (Novocarbo) and Mai Bui (Supercritical)   - Over 15+ one-on-one meetings with leaders from the carbon removal (CDR) industry 🌍   We’re returning energized and full of exciting new leads and future opportunities! Here are some key takeaways:   🌿 Biochar continues to lead the charge in the CDR space, with over 80% of sales in Q1 and more than 90% deliveries in Q2   💼 Pre-purchases and long-term offtakes are crucial in addressing the anticipated supply scarcity in the CDR market.   🔑 The market is still dominated by a handful of buyers, leaving immense room for expansion.   🏛️ 145 governments already have net-zero trajectories, and CDR will be instrumental in delivering these.   🤝 Biochar and enhanced rock weathering can work in perfect synergy for even greater impact.   🚀 Compliance markets are set to dramatically increase demand, driving the next phase of growth in the CDR space.   It’s an exciting time to be in this space, and we’re thrilled to be pushing the boundaries with an ever-greater number of partners !   #CDR #Biochar #EnhancedRockWeathering #CarbonMarkets #NetZero #ClimateAction #CarbonUnbound

That’s the way! Then let's get talking. The opportunities for the circular economy in this area are enormous. The carbon issue following the phase-out of fossil coal, natural gas and crude oil can only be solved through recycling and biomass for the chemical industry.
