"Every day, I open my mailbox and think—what next?” It’s a ritual, really. Scanning through the usual clutter of invoices and inquiries, never expecting much. Conducted by Americans for the Arts and Association of Professional Art Advisors, this survey of 32 workplaces with art collections found most employees think workplace art reduces stress (78%), increases creativity (64%), and encourages expression of opinion (77%). How bold and brilliant design brought strangers together in the most unexpected way. I am endlessly fascinated by the power of artful, intentional design—and how often we underestimate its impact. Thoughtful design doesn’t just shape spaces; it shapes how we live and explore and play and seeds connection. It can create moments, foster connections, and bring strangers together in ways we don’t expect. Earlier this year in Charleston, I experienced this firsthand- see the video. Great design isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about connection! A simple yet brilliant Design/Architectural set of choices led to an unforgettable interaction with strangers, sparking connection through the foresight of designers who understood the human experience.
