#vicarioustrauma As injury attorneys, mediators, judges, paralegals, and medical experts, there is a resource for learning resilience above vicariously absorbing our clients' traumas; because when you work up 1000 car crashes, eventually you do not want to get into a car. Vital Hearts offers an AMAZING workshop for those of us that work in human suffering, 1st responders, and 2nd responders. Ask me more! #injurylaw #medicalmalpractice #catastrophicnegligence
In her book Self-Compassion, Kristin Neff writes, “When we recognize how difficult it is to be there for people who are suffering, and comfort ourselves in the process, we are able to be stronger, more stable, and resilient when supporting others in their suffering.” If we don’t acknowledge the weight of facing others' suffering, our hearts may protect themselves in other ways: shutting down, burning out, or giving up. If you’re looking for ways to heal from compassion fatigue and find renewal, consider joining our mailing list for updates on the Secondary Trauma Resiliency Training. We'll be announcing our early spring dates soon. Until then, remember this: “The hardships of being a caregiver are just as valid and worthy of compassion as the hardships of being a trauma victim. All pain deserves to be held in the warm embrace of compassion, so that healing can occur.”

Memorial Day often carries a weight of trauma, especially for those who've lost loved ones in service. But what if we used this day as a springboard for healing, a first step out of the darkness? Trauma can leave us feeling isolated, but connection is the key to moving forward. This Memorial Day, consider reaching out and sharing stories of those we honor. Here are some ways to find solace and celebrate: 🇺🇲Connect with fellow veterans or families of service members.** Sharing experiences can be incredibly cathartic. 🇺🇲Volunteer at a veteran's organization. Giving back honors those who served while providing a sense of purpose. 🇺🇲Attend a local Memorial Day ceremony. Remembering together can create a powerful sense of community. 🇺🇲Focus on acts of kindness in your community. Helping others is a beautiful way to channel grief into something positive. What are YOU doing this Memorial Day to honor our fallen heroes and find healing? Share your thoughts and experiences in the comments below. #MemorialDay #Healing #TraumaAwareness #Community
