No culture can live if it attempts to be exclusive. – Mahatma Gandhi 🌍 Today is World Day for Cultural Diversity, a day to celebrate and appreciate the abundance and value of cultures around the world and in our workplaces. Culture is not a static concept based solely on nationality and ethnicity. It's a dynamic and evolving one that is influenced by many factors, such as technology, migration and social change. Culture shapes our values, beliefs, behaviors, and perspectives, and it can also be a source of learning, creativity, and innovation. As you know, I take pride in Accenture's diverse and inclusive culture, where I sponsor our Multicultural Iberia employee group. Differences are part of our strength, which we value and respect, as they empower us to thrive both professionally and personally. With more than 740,000 people from diverse backgrounds (north of 100 nationalities in Accenture España + Accenture Portugal), experiences, and identities, we have a unique opportunity to learn from each other, collaborate across boundaries, and deliver tangible value to our clients and communities. I hope you join me in celebrating and learning from our diverse and inclusive culture at Accenture and beyond. Happy World Day for Cultural Diversity! P.S. Understanding cultural preferences helps us communicate effectively and build stronger relationships. Below is my cultural profile (today's anyway!) according to the nifty Aperian tool. It compares cultural tendencies and provided a snapshot of my profile across six dimensions. I can also use it to compare my cultural style with that of other people, countries and my organization. #diversity #culture #multicultural #cultureofcultures Beck Bailey | Raffaella Temporiti | Amparo Gonzalez | maria jose vos martinez | Yolanda Umpiérrez Alvarez | Alana Stewart | Cécile Rochet | Ola Bolton ,SPHR (She/Her/Hers) | Khitam Elkhayat Khayat | Dimitris Spyrou | Asher Chocron | Evgeniia Naumova

Diversity and inclusion are more than just policies at Cognizant ; they are the very fabric of our culture. We strive not just to coexist but to collaborate, creating an environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging. It’s a place where every voice is heard and valued, and every contribution is recognized. Recently, I had the honour of receiving a Certificate of Appreciation from our D&I lead for my contributions to International Women’s Day and for influencing actions that empower the women’s community in Malaysia. This recognition is not just a testament to individual effort but a reflection of our collective commitment to fostering an empowered community. I extend my heartfelt thanks to the Cognizant D&I team and Shelley Tiltman for this recognition. It’s a different kind of satisfaction when your efforts to promote diversity and inclusivity are acknowledged by your peers and leaders. It reinforces the belief that what we do matters and encourages us to push the boundaries even further. As we continue on this journey, I am excited about the future and the opportunities it holds. I look forward to contributing more, learning more, and growing more in an organization that truly values diversity and inclusion as cornerstones of success. Let’s keep the momentum going and work together towards a more diverse, inclusive, and empowered tomorrow. #D&I #Cognizant #Diversity #Recognition #Malaysia #inclusive #culture

The Impact of ERGs at Accenture: Enhancing Our Work and Culture Last Friday, I had the privilege of representing the Asian Pacific American Employee Resource Group (APAERG) at the Accenture Atlanta ERG Panel. Joined by leaders from various levels—Analysts to Managing Directors—I shared insights into how Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) not only foster a diverse culture but also significantly enhance the nature of our work at Accenture. Through engaging discussions, we explored the undeniable benefits of ERGs, highlighting their role in promoting inclusivity and understanding across the organization. By facilitating a deeper connection among our teams, ERGs help us deliver more thoughtful and inclusive solutions to our clients, which is crucial in a consulting environment where we often focus deeply on individual projects. At Accenture, despite the scale of our operations and the complexity of our client engagements, we remain committed to putting people first. Events like this panel and the active engagement in ERGs ensure that our culture remains vibrant and inclusive, making Accenture not just a workplace but a community and a safe space. These initiatives underscore how ERGs improve our work environment, making it more inclusive and connected, and ultimately enhancing the services we provide to our clients. #Accenture #DiversityAndInclusion #ERG #APAERG #PeopleFirst

The dilemma ‘to be-or-not-to-be’ for attaching the financial result to discussions over the organization should implement diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging often becomes the decisive factor over just ‘good-thing-to-do’ approach. #Accenture in its recent extensive study of belonging refers to a study by BetterUp (a B2B and B2C online coaching platform) that found that a strong sense of belonging was linked to a 56% increase in job performance, 50% lower staff turnover, and a 75% reduction in sick days. The researchers calculated that for a 10,000-person organization, this would result in annual savings of more than $52 million. #DEIB #belonging

I am excited to announce that we at Accenture now have coaches for cultural change who are promoting international collaboration and helping teams better understand and leverage cultural differences - and that I am one of them🚀 We support our colleagues and global teams to work better together by 👉Promoting Cultural Sensitivity: We highlight why people adhere to certain patterns and how to break these behaviors to overcome cultural barriers. 👉 The 5 Dimensions of Cultural Change: We help teams to better understand and navigate cultural differences in the areas of Independence vs. Interdependence, Egalitarianism vs. Hierarchy, Risk vs. Caution, Directness vs. Indirectness, and Task vs. Relationship. This fosters deeper cultural sensitivity and more effective communication. 👉 Practice and Theory: By combining theoretical knowledge with practical applications, we enable participants to immediately apply what they have learned in their daily work, strengthening intercultural collaboration. Thanks to our coaches for cultural change, our international teams significantly improve their collaboration, minimize cultural misunderstandings, and create a more productive and harmonious work environment. This leads to greater success and sustainable value for colleagues and clients. A big thank you to everyone who has supported this process!
